List of Roy Caputo's Reviews
After coming in and getting several x-rays on my thumb that by the way, I had to tell everyone in there what I was there for write things down and they were all very nice but then Dr. Caputo came in and asked me what I was doing there? just run when the doctor tells you that because after that if he doesn’t know what you’re doing there he doesn’t know what he’s doing either!!! I came there to find a doctor to take care of my degenerative joint disease in my hands and I had surgery on my wrist to replace that joint. but my thumb is literally hanging by the bone and it’s numb. He didn’t act concerned at all, and he actually didn’t really act like he cared about it and he didn’t want to check the rest of my hands, which I haven’t had checked in a couple of years. I mentioned him since I had Kaiser and I switched insurance and now I have Medicare and Scan. I don’t know if that makes a difference, but the doctor I had at Kaiser took x-rays and both my hands and always told me what needed to be done, but he didn’t to take the time to even discuss the options for my thumb except for he wanted to test me for nerve damage. ?because he didn’t think it was important enough even though I’m right now then I’m gonna lose my thumb kind of rolled his eyes and said you’re not gonna lose your thumb? Even though it’s numb? I don’t think he knows what he’s doing he was very condescending towards me!!!
Rude and lies. Also told my mom her shoulder is. Not dislocated. 2 months later we find out it is. Today he told another doctor were seeing more of his lies. What a joke.
Hello my name is Christine Williams on December 14, 2020 I came to this office to have my hand looked at my thumb they said it’s like skier thumb I had two previous doctors looked at it course I was fearful and I didn’t quite understand this doctor was so nice his staff his nurse totally felt like you were in a home environment this doctor sat with me for quite a long time and went over everything surgery on my hand my other options absolutely physical therapy is a must how long the recovery would be I was able to ask him several questions I felt the doctors in Newport Beach with the big fish tanks we’re too fast I know where I’m at now and I will have to have this fixed and I surely will have this doctor do it thank you very much for seeing me today I’m very grateful for the time You did spend with me thank you for your nice nurses Christine Williams
I highly recommend Dr. Caputo and Arrowhead Orthopaedics. I saw Dr. Caputo for a ganglion cyst in my hand that I had had for about 6 years. It had started to cause me pain and I needed to know what could be done about it. Dr. Caputo was very nice and informational. He gave me my options and advised me of the risks for both treatment options. I ultimately chose to have surgery to remove the cyst completely. I am so happy that I did. Dr. Caputo is a very good surgeon. He knows what he is doing and gets you in and out of outpatient surgery quickly. My experience with his office staff has also been a pleasant one. All the nurses and front desk staff are nice. A couple things I'd like to point out: 1. The wait time to see Dr. Caputo can be quite long. My first appt (at 8am) I waited 1 1/2 hours and my second appt (3pm) I waited for 45 minutes. 2. The office asks that you do a health questionnaire prior to your appt. They texted me a link to download an app but I know they have a tablet where you can do this in office. It did take me about 20-30 minutes to fill out the questionnaire. Other than those little things I would absolutely recommend Arrowhead Orthopaedics to my family and friends!
On our first appointment, we waited 2 hours in their office before being seen by the doctor. On our second visit, it was an hour and 45 minutes. We are very far away from their office and spent 4.5 hours on the road due to traffic on our second appointment just to be told to go home. I needed Xiaflex injections for Dupuytren’s contracture in both hands. Was approved by insurance stating, “there is nothing for you to do”. Nothing happened for 2 weeks, so I called their office. They told me basically, don’t call us, we’ll call you when the 4 vials get here. Three more weeks went by and three more calls with the same answer. Their office blamed the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy. They had contacted Dr. Caputo’s office 4 times with NO RESPONSE! A month and half had elapsed since my first visit and my fingers had contracted another 5 degrees - the contractions are accelerating. I told Dalila Isla that she needed to check into this. That afternoon, I checked back with the pharmacy and they told me that Dr. Caputo’s office had just ordered the Xiaflex that afternoon - yes, 6 weeks after my first visit! A week after my strong phone conversation, I got a call to come in, that the Xiaflex had arrived and Dr. Caputo would give me the injections. I verified that we needed 4 vials, not just one. She agreed after checking into it. When we got there, I was told that he could not give me the injections because they had only one vial of Xiaflex. I called the pharmacy a little while ago and they told me that only 2 veils were ordered by Dr. Caputo’s office and they only needed one. Again they tried blaming the pharmacy saying they should have called us to cancel the appointment made by Dr. Caputo’s office. Pharmacies don’t make or cancel doctor’s appointments! This staff can only fall into three categories: 1. They are incompetent. 2. They are liars. 3. They are stupid in their communication skills. Essentially, nothing they said made a modicum of sense. It might also be a combination thereof, or all three. Dr.Caputo seemed like a very good doctor and a nice guy. However, having been in business for 38 years, I can say with confidence that I’ve fired people more competent than those on his staff. This is an edit: Several days after requesting approval from the pharmacy to return the only vial of Xiaflex (two were needed for the injections), I got a call from Dr. Caputo's office that I had an appointment Monday to see him for Xiaflex injections. Didn't the doctor's staff get the message that this whole deal is off the table now and they should have returned the vial of Xiaflex back to the pharmacy??? Like I mentioned, 100% incompetence!
Really good
I had met with Dr Caputo and again this time I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. He is friendly and thorough. I highly recommend. Also the staff is the best. Thank you Patricia
Dr. Caputo performed my second carpal tunnel release. This second surgery was so successful I feel I will not ever need this procedure again. Thank you for your professionalism and caring.
Very professional, great service.
Dr. Caputo is an awesome surgeon, has great bed side manner. If you want the best you don't have to look further than Dr. Caputo. Thanks for all your help.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
