List of Bhc Alhambra Hospital's Reviews
Please do not send your loved ones to this location! We had no issues with the ground level staff at all but the Doctors, patient process and family communication are horrible. Their mission statement states “Compassion and empathy” but my wife along with 2 other patients described the Doctors as “dismissive, arrogant and feeling rushed.” Those are not words you want remotely describing a psychiatrist in charge of patients that need mental health assistance. My wife was admitted to this location on Tuesday, June 16th when she first spoke to Dr. Jones. She spoke to him only for a few minutes and described him with the words above. She was placed in a 72 hour voluntary hold and was due to be released on Friday, June 19th. On the day of her release she informs me that she is being kept involuntarily by Dr. Gyass in a 30 second conversation along the hallways. She was simply informed, paraphrasing, your Doctor determined you are being held here longer. With no probable cause or reasoning why they made the change. After finding this out I spoke to a nurse who stated my wife was a very good patient, contradicting Dr. Jones possible adverse assessment to extend her stay. The main issues with this place are the Doctors who lack compassion and empathy and the lack of communication and transparency. We, as the family of the patient were never updated on her status, release date or any type of family counseling meeting. She was only given vague information and never straight answers. The whole process just seemed very odd and unprofessional. How is it that Dr. Jones determined my wife needed to extend her voluntary stay to involuntarily by the entrance interview and without monitoring her for the 72 hours stay? If he had determined that why was there no transparency and communication to my wife and her family? And why did she have a quick 30 second re-evaluation meeting with Dr. Gyass in the hall way informing her that she would be kept involuntarily? Additionally, I ran into other families with similar situations who informed me that one of their loved ones told a Dr. she would be filling a complaint and the Dr. simply said “you can try.” The lack of transparency and communication just leads the family members to think the worse. If your loved one is being sent here please don’t! I also don’t need your automated comment stating to visit your website about these concerns. I have already done so and will be seeking other ways to express our dissatisfaction. This could have mostly been avoided through communication and transparency as to the probable cause found to extend my wife from voluntarily to involuntarily.
Horrible environment. Staff does not care for patients especially underage patients, and they make calling in to talk to patients so difficult.
This place was really helpful. Most of the staff and workers are really nice! Miguel and Kristine were great. The people in there I had a lot in common with, lots us had different stories. Its was truly helpful.
Great staff, everyone was very sweet and helpful during my stay
I was here like almost 2 years ago and I’ve written many reviews on many websites. Here I am again just thinking about this place. How terrible it was. The food was basically dirt, the water tasted like it was from a dirty sink, everything was genuinely terrible. The only good thing about this places is how aware the nurses are that there place of work is terrible to people. They genuinely always questioned why half of the people where there when they clearly weren’t in need of treatment. The hippie doctor with the pony tail is known to keep people in there for a week or longer no matter if you were only on a 72 hour hold or not. They were so known to do this that I was warned by one of the nurses that it was a recurring issue with specifically him. If I were you and I had a loved one in there I’d be contacting lawyers right now. Bad things are gonna happen. And they are not gonna care. You can see it in the responses under the reviews. You can even see it when you see the reviewer updated what they said too add that bhc dismissed the follow up that they asked for. Genuinely suit up for the worst ride and the most arguments with a doctor you’ve ever had. The people running this place ares you saviors. They are your downfall.
Great doctors and the staff are fantastic people. The time I was there was short but was so beneficial to me. My heart goes out to the staff!!!
Not going to lie I was really scared going back to inpatient especially in a new state, however i genuinely had the best change in my life because of this hospital, I used to be able to leave hospitals without doing the work to better myself and change, but this hospital was so good with a schedule and listening to my anxiety needs it change me as a person, I went from having a lot of meds to very few that work really well for me, thank you to the doctor that made me stay a bit longer so I could really see the help I needed. Just make sure to do your own research before making your choice but overall it’s a good place to get your life together.
Anyssa and Edith need a raise up they are amazing and helpful and there really nice and they give goood advice and does good support
Very uncomfortable place repeatedly lied to and dismissed
I ended up here after trying to kill myself. I thought it would be quick. I originally came in expecting just a psych evaluation then to go home, so when I found out I had to stay, I completely flipped out. I ended up being here for around 11 days. Over time, I really used the groups to my advantage and learned a lot. Had so much time to think, met a lot of amazing people, the staff were incredibly kind and supportive. What started as one of the worst experiences of my life became something that taught me a lot about myself and healing. I appreciate my life so much more. I'm happy to know there's a safe place I can turn to if I ever find myself in that kind of situation again. By the end, leaving almost felt bittersweet. I found myself cherishing the time and the people there more than I expected. It wasn't always easy, but it was worth every second.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
