IF ASIAN PACIFIC FAMILY CENTER ACCEPTS MEDICAL ONLY LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY WHEN I CALLED A woman Mrs. Lin called me today around 7 pm. Asked me my insurance information, just one minute she hung up and said she has important call. After few minutes she called again, but the phone got disconnected without any reasons. Same thing happened again and again. Then she claimed they cannot see me because I have no Medical, although I have Medicare and Blue Shield. Then she said she will refer me to another place that accepted Medicare, and the phone got disconnected and she never called me back. They got government fund, that is tax payers money, I paid tax about fifty years, and that is what I got from them.
Under California law as legal patient receiving services from APFCin Rosemead, terminated therapy thru phone w my temporary therapist Rachel 10/21.Phone conversation aggravating,bcRachel was insistent tht I go to APFC in person 2 terminate my mental health services frm APFC.Phone call lasted ovr 12min whch under any respectful circumstances shouldve been complete in no more thn maybe 5min.Speaking w Rachel, did my best2 remain calm while arguing w her from legal/logical standpoint regarding basic mental health treatment&an adult patient's basic rights laws.Rachel(employed therapist @APFC)unprofessional unreliable&plain rude w last verbal interaction ovr phone where she ended the conversation w directly threatening(frm voice tone&shifting 2anger&pace of speech increasing rapidly)me as mental health patient w police wellness check 2 my legal residence w her knowing my experiences w police involvement forcing me in2 5150d illegally.Sent 2 ACO on10/22.Arranged by Aurora Charter Oak for follow up appointment day after discharge(10/29) w original therapist Shirui.Thought Shirui was overqualified to b employed@ APFC,&formerly trusting her b4 being assigned 2 Rachel, decided 2 follow thru w going 2 in person appointment 2 personally terminate mental health services at APFC. Against better judgment chose2 trust Shirui &go in person 2 scheduled appointment 2 try again 2 terminate all services for treatment from APFC.Upon entering APFC@ my scheduled appointment w Shirui on 10/30 front desk staff Hao very timid whch very unusual behavior 4him. In all experiences w interacting w Hao both in person&verbally over phone for past2 or 3+ years of treatment at APFC he has consistently been rude both verbally (regarding tone of voice choices of words etc)&physically (regarding facial expressions eye rolling body postures of indications of sarcasm and disrespect/impatience etc) in other words unprofessional&unacceptable choices of behavior 4 legally employed front desk staff member @ any mental health treatment establishment.Consistent except after I finally filed and handed a written complaint to the female staff who stated was in charge of receiving/filing complaints who works in back office room behind front desk glass week of 10/13.After entering Shirui's assigned office, another staff member listened in on my therapy session outside her closed door (repeated behavior frm employed staff @APFC please refer 2my Google review4 past experience w Rachel)& Shirui's white noise machine 4 privacy was not working (she verbally stated). Shirui stated one of her intentions 4 tht scheduled therapy session was 2update my safety plan 4suicide prevention.documented my warning signs, coping skills, safety factors,&reasons worth living for. After direct privacy violations frm employed staff @APFC refused 2 give names of people I trust 2 assist me w help & how they do so. As legally employed therapist in CA Shirui is expected 2document my verbal statement of termination& no further obligation4 treatment frm her,& any staff member employed at APFC(patient autonomy)& had she truly documented responsibly, specific stated words directly communicated to her in person during tht session wouldve included, "closing my case here" "seeking therapy& psychiatric services elsewhere" which is right as client's unilateral decision 2end all treatment received frm this establishment & anyone employed here. Unilateral termination frm Shirui as therapist, specifically &directly let her know w sufficient notice my intentions of personally seeking both therapeutic & psychiatric treatment elsewhere& she directly verbally stated to me tht she did not feel comfortable making legal referrals 4me 2 get help with legal matters. 10/31 @ 8:28am received direct text 2 phone # 4appointment reminder scheduled11/4 @1pm at APFC frm provider Emily Ng. I very clearly stated both verbally over phone 2Rachel, &verbally in person w Shirui tht i explicitly wish to end and discontinue ANY further future appointments, treatment, and involvement with Asian Pacific Family Centers, in Rosemead and California in general &anyone employed by APFC.Legally violates all professional boundaries w adult mental health treatment services in CA especially w continuing scheduling appointments directly against my free will& communication (patient autonomy)Legally not obligated 2 attend further scheduled appointments by anyone employed at APFC or pay 4them. If needed (at this point it probably is)will formally notify APFCboth thru email& certified mail the case was legally supposed to be closed on date of last session w Shirui, I explicitly stated would NOT b scheduling further appointments&that any subsequent charges r supposed 2b invalid. After doing so, intend on filing complaint w CA Board of Behavioral Sciences once APFC & its staff keep persisting w unwanted contact&billing already directly communicated both 2 Rachel&Shirui I want NO FURTHER contact frm this clinic /ANYONE employed here)
Very unprofessional staff regarding the most basic mental health policies, from front desk staff, to therapists themselves, to honestly anyone employed by this establishment at all i have personally interacted with except for one therapist, but I dont believe I feel comfortable continuing to work with anyone regarding mental health at this establishment at all from this point forward because of my personal experiences and interactions with those chosen to be employed by Asian Pacific Clinics Rosemead. I feel the most evident amount of distrust and lack of professionalism regarding the mental health treatment field because of my interaction and treatment from the therapist Rachel. Many choices of behavior from her sessions in detail, but most specifically the last choice of action/inaction from Rachel that caused me to completely lose any sense of trust for receiving help from this establishment was upon exiting the private room from my last scheduled session, there was a female staff member with gray ish hair in a low ponytail evidently closely eavesdropping right outside the closed door during the session, and as soon as the door opened and I exited the private room, she clearly rushed away down the hall towards the left of that door. I know that Rachel saw this herself, but she chose to ignore her coworker's clear choice of behavior that violates patient confidentiality rights provided by the mental health system during scheduled therapy, did not address or even try to stop her coworker upon seeing her so close to the door to let her know that violates therapist and patient confidentiality rights that are supposed to be set in place legally, to even address her as an adult, and uphold her most basic responsibility as a trusted legally employed staff member at a mental health facility. I am consistently gaslit and honestly at least verbally disrespected by almost everyone employed here except for the therapist I was working with consistently before being assigned to speak with Rachel. I have no trust in receiving help from anyone at all from this establishment at all from this point forward, but upon my circumstances I will continue arriving here for "treatment" however long necessary until I am turned away and rejected by staff here personally. Nothing I say here is credible or taken seriously, this review is likely to be taken down if published at all. The only way I would be able to prove the direct choices of actions and inaction from both Rachel and whoever the female staff member who was clearly eavesdropping chose to do as adults employed and working in the mental health field, is if there were any security cameras located in the hallways/area of where my session was scheduled and held on Wednesday in between the times of 2:56pm and 3:05pm California time, and if those cameras actually record if there were any present at all. The direct words I communicate to Rachel regarding my severe trauma and ongoing stress are not taken seriously whatsoever, I am constantly gaslit and questioned for further information regarding the severe trauma and ongoing stress not for the sake of understanding me as a human or even how to help me in the specific abusive situations I am asking for help for directly during my therapy sessions with Rachel, it is to further document and form decisions to force me back to either being prescribed mandatory medication or to be sent on a 5150 hold or at least evaluation. It was a severe and incredibly huge mistake for me to have chosen to trust Rachel as a legally employed therapist in the mental health field with anything regarding my personal and detailed trauma and stress.
Unprofessional staff from front desk Asking about appoinment and then get mad when cannot find out my appoinment I made appoinment with doctor and doctor told me that she would tell to front desk
I do not recommend this place to anyone. Doctors Tang annd Nyugen are novice here and aren’t diligent. There bedside manner is nonexistent.
Came here seeking family therapy services a couple years ago. They were aware of the abuse and disorder in the family and during one session told me that I should be more grateful. Their example of this was to point at the phone I had, saying it was a nice phone (an old Android) and that I should be more grateful to my family. Gaslighters and people are not qualified to be in a counseling position work here. Therapists are also strongly opinionated and would interrupt me while I talked.
Thanks for the help and great servise
Long time patient but lately their system has been failing me so I currently lean on the side of not recommending them as a resource/facility.
My experience with therapy there was horrible. My old therapist named Sarah was intimidating and said my social anxiety was an excuse not to go to school. It was not a safe to share anything.
My life became pandemonium when I went APFC from 1999 to 2015 because the therapists and doctors there were are too ignorant to help me. Every time I saw the doctor, I told him my problems; and he diagnosed me with so many diseases. He over medicated me. Once there was a therapist by the name of Luong Thanh who took advantage of me by looking inside my mouth to examine if I had cavities, and he was a therapist! I recommend you should go there because the people who go to this institution became even sicker, so do not go there if you want to be healthy!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
