Thomas Hopkins's Online Review Report Card

Perhaps because I have knowledge about some medical conditions, he refused to discuss, I really did not understand his refusal to consult with me about my medical condition

Dr Hopkins initially seemed great but then his temperament was unpredictable as some visits were friendly and some were quite gruff. I'm a somewhat healthy person with no current issues but he thought I should set up quarterly appointments which made no sense to me. When I didn't follow his suggestions exactly (because I do have the freedom to listen and then make my own decision) he treated me like I was just a nuisance . I happily left his practice. My new PCP is awesome. I wish Dr Hopkins the best.

I seemed to annoy the doctor when I asked medical questions, and he told me that he is the doctor

Rude front office who overcharged me repeatedly for co pay, his nurse practitioner was uninterested in even examining me and when I complained to Blue Shield, he called me not to apologize for his staff but to tell me to find another doctor which I gladly did. If Thomas Hopkins were the very last doctor on earth, I would go without healthcare

I called today to make an appointment because of all the great reviews Dr Hopkins has. I’m sure he’s a lovely doctor, but his receptionist who took my call today really upset me. This review is for her. We were going over new patient questions and she asked me if I have any chronic illnesses, to which I replied “just depression and anxiety” she immediately cut me off and said rather rudely “dr Hopkins doesn’t handle those illnesses, perhaps you’re better suited for a psychiatrist” I was kind of shocked, she continued “he won’t prescribe any medication for that” and I had to explain I already HAVE a psychiatrist and am simply looking for a PCP Dr. She goes “okay…do you take any opiates or illicit drugs” to which I replied with an offended “no I do not” I really feel like this receptionist profiled me because of my mental illness. The final thing she says to me is that the staff will review my information and get back with me today if I’m approved to be a patient of Dr Hopkins. Unsurprisingly, I never received a call. Terrible experience.

Never have I felt that I wasted so much time and money at a physicians office. I attempted to establish care at Dr. Hopkins office and on my initial and only appointment my time spent with the irse practitioner was a complete waste of time. The medical assistant checked my vital signs and that was the only time anyone came close to examining me. The NP never once auscultated my lung or heart sounds or even laid a finger on me. She simply sat at the computer ordering standard labs and was told come back in a month and we'll discuss your labs. So now you want to be able to bill for 2 visits? No thank you. This was a complete waste of my time and of a $105 copay. Had I known this is what my visit would have consisted of I would have gone elsewhere. This was simply a way to bill a patient but no care was provided. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this office.

How Dr Hopkins and his staff treat senior citizens is appalling. Apparently making an appointment with this physician does not actually mean you will have an appointment with him. Instead of explaining the process beforehand to my mother, both his NP and he decided that it was of greater benefit to argue with her about seeing the physician. After the NP stated that she could not see the doctor with whom she made an appointment with (and whose services would most likely be billed for), Hopkins, in a degrading manner, told my mother that “this is how he runs his business”. Ok fine. Well that should be explained to the patient that making an appointment with the phylum sans you may not get to see the physician. Only after a “six month” wait-per the NP. In other words, if you are looking for a physician who cares, it might be best to look elsewhere. Roseville and the surrounding area has plenty of outstanding docs willing to see you.

Haley is a liar management is no different instead of identifying the problem they were trying to coach me Haley dropped the ball on a medication I was supposed to receive Instead of owning up for her mistake She was annoyed n the management backed her up instead of resolving the issue The office was annoyed and wouldn’t answer my calls purposely wouldn’t return my call back!!

Not worth your time, energy or health. No one can keep their stuff straight and Haley is completely out of line and rude. They are not a patient first medical office and don’t really care if you are getting better or not. I have never in my life been more disappointed and finally removed myself from their office. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Don’t go.

Not considerate of the patient's time. Outdated system that plays into the reasons our healthcare system is failing.
