Calkin & Boudreaux Dermatology Associates's Online Review Report Card

I am extremely selective when it comes to dermatologists. (A recent metastasized squamous cell cancer diagnosis and monthly trips to a Houston cancer center). Dr Boudreaux was meticulous, detailed, efficient, personable and knowledgeable. She was aware of the current experimental drugs I had received for my skin cancer, as well as alternative treatments. My biopsies were taken painlessly and the lab results returned in 48 hours. A+ for the office staff as well.

I see Emily for my yearly skin check. She’s wonderful. She’s also thorough and very nice, I really love her. The office has nice, clean decor.

The staff are all wonderful and appointments are always on time. Excellent patient care and follow-up which is why I stay with this dermatology clinic.

Dr. Calkin is absolutely the very best.! And so is her colleague Dr. Boudreau. Highly recommend that office. I am a retired physician.

I received treatments for my acne scarring a few years ago, and for whatever reason, I never shared my experience. It's been a while, so I'm not trying to leave a 1-star rating. I want to leave my experience and hope that the issue has been updated. My problem was I did little to no research on the TYPES of scars I had on my face before I went into any dermatologist's office. I hoped the dermatologist's office would know all, and I'd trust all from there. My first foray into correcting my scarring was C&B. When I had my consultation for a treatment plan, I was expecting to see a Dermatologist to check out my scars in a doctor-like setting, so they could examine my scars. No. It was a lady in an office, and I can't remember her name, but she seemed like an office coordinator. But she listened to my concerns a little bit and looked at my scars from across the table. Even I knew the only decent way to see what kind of scars I had was to turn out the lights and use a flashlight or something like that to examine each side of the face to see the depths of the scars and see the depths of each scar.All said and done, she recommended my treatment plan be 4-6 treatments of Fraxel, then filler, and then Subcision. I didn't know better, and it's also on me that I accepted this plan. I would do 1 Fraxel, take some time, and then do another treatment. An assistant did my Fraxel treatments, and I get that, they were a busy office, but the whole experience, I never saw a Dermatologist. But the assistant who did my treatments was great. Sweet as pie, assisted me when I was being a baby in pain, and was professional. After spending $2500 on Fraxels and healing, I saw no improvements at all. I correct that. I saw improvement in the redness in my skin. It helped get the red out. No improvement on scars even as more time passed. I took "before and after" pictures and saw no improvement. I decided to part ways with C&B for the rest of the treatment. ( When I was at my lowest, I did come back for another consultation, but I ultimately did not go further) Bummed that I spent $2500 that did little to no improvement on my scars, I researched and researched and realized Fraxel is NOT the first line treatment for acne scars. Offices usually try to sell packages up front for a quick sell. The better treatment for my type of scars would have been something like Subcision first and filler after ( not Subcision last) or Subcision then laser, then filler. What I hope has improved at C & B is their intake /consultation process, especially for people with acne scars. Not everyone is a one-size-fits-all treatment. Everyone has different kinds of scars. I had shallow box scars and rolling scars. Others might have Ice pick scars and deeper atrophic scars. Anyway, my scars improved after I had Subcision/filler somewhere else and have been doing Microneedling and peels at home the few years.

I love the staff. Sandy (NP) and her team are awesome. They have passion for what they do. They are mindful and meticulous. I'm pleased with the care provided to me.
