List of Dermatology Consultants's Reviews
Went here several years ago to see Dr. Horner for terrible intensely itchy rashes I was getting on my arms, shoulders, and torso, after waiting months for a referral and appointment. It was very disappointing. She was somewhat rushed and dismissive and seemed bored by my case, and she gave me feedback I already knew from google, such as "Don't use any perfumes". (I didn't.) I found out on my own months later when I developed other symptoms that I have a gluten intolerance. Stopped gluten, and the rashes disappeared. I still remember this frustrating experience. I wish she'd tried harder to scratch below the surface to figure out what I was dealing with.
Nice people
Dr. Horner is such a caring doctor. Staff is super efficient. Rarely wait, they are on time. Just the best!!!
Everything about my visit was professional and compassionate.
Telephone answering service needs to be upgraded. A live person should be able to answer the phone and a patient not wait 24 hours for a call back.
Good experience with my health care provider. Good from checking in to checking out. She explained everything to me in a straightforward manner. I endorse this office for Dermatology health care.
Very. Punctual, professional yet friendly. I have fears associated with dermatologist. Freezing skin. Doctor has done surgery in which a Mohs surgery was needed but appts were fare off, so Doctor Tanghetti removed the cancer rather than wait 4 wks. The guy knows his stuff. My previous dermatologist were not good.
Almost the worst front desk/appointment/assistant staff in Sacramento. They constantly forget to send info by email, don't return calls, act very inconvenienced when you call and ask a question, and are all around mean and not happy to do their job. However, PA Genevieve Town is an incredible person who has been patient and helped me in every way she could. Unfortunately the fact is most people will interact with everyone but their doctor most of the time since the scheduling/payment/ pharmacy stuff is handled by the worthless staff. That's why I'm rating it two stars. If I were just rating my physician, PA Town would get 5 stars easily.
My pcp referred me to Dr. Horner but she is always booked. I’ve been seeing PA Towne for a few years now and she has never failed to help me. Nurse/MA’s are always friendly. Love the receptionist/discharge clerks, they’re always on top of everything and are so helpful.
I saw Dr. Horner initially via zoom and when I needed a second option from an HMO in network provider. I have my own private Dermatologist that I see OON, but I needed a in network second option. What I can tell you is I was not impressed by her staff. Dr. Horner was professional, but her assistant (maybe MA) who took my calls was not well versed in medical verbiage. She might have been new and possibly still learning, so I can give her some slack. Note: it was during the middle of a pandemic. Would it have been better in person? Maybe. Maybe not. There is a male at the office (maybe office manager) who could needs to fine tune his customer interaction skills. It was evident that he was upset that I called to express concerns. Ok and? This office is not a fit for me, but it does not mean that Dr. Horner is unqualified. Her bedside manner via zoom was professional. Assessing a new patient's skin via zoom is not ideal. Established patients for a med check (and no skin check) I could get on board with (mostly). Both of my other Derms were still seeing patients in person. Even established patients. Each practice runs differently.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
