I was placed on a 5150 for questioning a cancer treatment recommendation. That is all. No other reason. Dr Gerstein was the attending psychiatrist and should have seen the grossly inappropriate nature of the hold. He did not. That experience still traumatizes and haunts me to this day. After the 5150, mutiple other medical foundations determined that the cancer treatment prescribed for me by Sutter was incorrect and potentially harmful. What doctor is not able to decipher between emotionality over cancer treatment and suicidal ideation? Sutter errored and a patient had to be stripped of her rights? Dr. Gerstein is a prime example of what's wrong with medicine.

Doctor Gerstein is one of a kind. I have never met a Doctor that cares about patients the way he does. He is very understanding and treats his patients with respect. I would recommend him to anyone.
