If you ever want to be treated like a nameless, faceless ATM machine for big Pharma and the people who push their cures, this is the spot for you. they are always quick to get you in at least 60 minutes late for your appointment, but if you call ahead of time, they are not going to answer the phone anyway. But don't worry, they always take the time to make sure every patient feels like they are inconveniencing the staff.

After more than 7 months waiting to be seen, I was only given a tele-health appointment with Dr. Virk. On the day of visit, a nurse calls me on the doctor's behalf to handle my care, stating that the doctor is "out." The nurse sent me to complete labs at Quest Diagnostics. After that, I simply received a short voicemail saying that they will follow up in 3 months, but never did. I had much better care near SoCal. Glad I took steps of my own to improve my health. I feel bad for people on Medi-Cal because Sierra Hematology is their only option.

Had one tele-health visit with a nurse as the doctor was “out.” She sent me to do labs at Quest Diagnostics. Never had any follow up as promised within 3 months. Felt very informal and a waste of time. No communication. I had better treatment living down south. Thankfully I’ve taken other measures to improve my health. I feel bad for the people on Medi-Cal as this is their only option in Sacramento.

I've been to their Bruceville location quite a few times. I saw Laurie Bresee/Victor. (I guess she got married.) She's a kind and intelligent woman that took my health seriously. All of the staff I interacted with were also kind and competent. I have no complaints, and I would recommend them to everyone I know.

I went to Sierra Hematology and Oncology because I often had a high white blood cell count. I've been blood tested a lot, and no one really seems to know why, but leukemia and lymphoma have been ruled out. I went for a few years every ~6 months seeing Laurie Bresee. She took my health seriously. The wait times were never very long (I saw a review that suggested they were.) She strikes me as quite intelligent. She's not afraid to look things up in front of me, and she does it very quickly. Some people just pretend to know everything. They don't. People that will look things up, like side effects from the drugs you're taking, are the doctors you want to see. Everyone I interacted with was kind and competent. We never figured out what is causing my high white blood cell count. I ended up having to leave because I had to change PCPs, and that messes my insurance up for going to Sierra Hematology and Oncology. I think the worst case scenarios have been tested for, at least. I would recommend them to everyone but my enemies.

NP Laurie and front desk Receptionist are phenomenal. The experience I am having with Sierra Hematology & Oncology is leaps and bounds better than the experience I had with Sutter and Kaiser.
