List of The Woodlake's Reviews
Both of my parents lived at Woodlake. I believe they had been there four years total. During that time my mom was relocated to Opal, Alzheimer unit on site. I live about 45 minutes from the facility and visited my parents one to two times a week for years. The facility is clean, they have a very friendly staff. But there are some things I would caution and maybe it's just the nature of the beast. When you take a walk through the facility it's beautiful you'll be hard-pressed to find a speck of dust however we found that as my father's condition deteriorated so did his living conditions. Staff would dump milk down the kitchen and bathroom sinks without rinsing it which resulted in bugs coming up. His room smelled so bad of spoiled milk that in the dead of summer they had his windows open because it smelled so bad. Multiple times I had negative interactions with housekeeping/maintenance. I really didn't get results until hospice was brought in for my dad's condition and they were able to see firsthand. I will include pictures but it was a fight to have my father's room cleaned. Food was stored in the refrigerator without expiration dates, opened and they had actually fed him some expired pudding. If you are elderly and bedridden the last thing you need is a stomach bug due to bad food! I came in one day and an antique secretary desk had been broken in two pieces pushed back together so no one noticed. When I brought this to Management's attention they felt the cat had done this! Yes that's what they said they said the 10 lb cat jumped off the cat tree onto 100-year-old desk, split it in two and then put it back together! Again multiple conversations with management, I finally got some resolution when I brought an ombudsman in. Unfortunately my father passed that week. Because he was bedridden and could not see the squalor. He paid $8,000 + a month to live there I would have thought it would have been a priority. The best advice I can give is to have CAMERAS! After both my parents passed and their Apartments were packed and cleaned we realized that almost all of my parents' jewelry and quite a few silver pieces were missing. At this point our hands are tied. But they don't make it well-known that every employee no matter who they are has access to your loved ones Apartments. When my father would be taken to the hospital, which happened quite often his room would be left unlocked. Communication here is very very difficult at this facility. My mother was in opal and she would call sometimes in the middle of the night scared and upset, she was out of her mind. I would call to see if someone could check on her and the phone would ring and ring. After hours there was only one person there and that person just carried a cordless phone. More than one time I drove all the way out to the facility only to wait out front because there was no one there to let me in after hours. It's excruciating when it's your loved one that's calling you for help and you can't do anything.
My mother was one of the early residents at The a Woodlake when they opened in 2020. She loves the friends she’s made there, the activities they have and the staff that go above and beyond every day. The facility and rooms are beautiful, like a nice hotel. The kitchen staff create a generous menu - I particularly like the breakfasts! I have stayed in various guest suites over the past 3 years as I live out of state and it’s so convenient to be onsite to have meals with her friends and take part in the nightly Scrabble and poker games! Additionally, there is a large Kaiser Medical facility within 5 minutes near Cal Expo and they’ll help coordinate Lyft rides. They have weekly shopping trips and occasional movie outings. She’s been very happy at The Woodlake, and that’s the most important thing.

The Woodlake - Leisure Care Community is a first class living place for adults. I do magic shows for the residents on Halloween every year. They always have something special planned for the residents in the form of entertainment and recreation. The Activities Director, Rosa Avalon, is always doing and planning something special for the residents. I would highly recommend this place for my relatives and loved ones.
I have been a resident here for going on three years, and I am delighted to live here. The care staff, the food service, and activities staff are all first rate.

I have been living here for 2 1/2 years. It is a very safe and comfortable place to live. My medications are given to me when they are due. We have a great chef and wait staff who provide us with excellent meals from 7 AM until 6 PM seven days a week. We have a very involved Activities Director who schedules offsite visits to various places and lots of indoor things for people to do. The WOODLAKE driver takes us and picks us up from our medical appointments. The Woodlake is a friendly and interactive place to live. Some people prefer to never leave their apartment, which is fine. Meals are delivered to their rooms. Our oldest resident is 102 years old. The youngest is 70 years old.
Rude, Unprofessional & a SCAM. Whenever u ask about prices they hang up on you & ignore ur calls. Then when they finally pick up they have an attitude & take zero accountability for their actions. Good luck renting out a studio for 4 thousand dollars a month with that price & unnecessary disrespect

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
