Unfortunately I have been there too many times. Great staff, excellent care and has family areas to rest.

After my first round of cancer DR TAM said I was cancer free. she never said that I would need regular testing and scans no one said anything about it ! the second time I had cancer was much worse. and could have been prevented with regular testing and scans according to my new dr. I will never return to ucd. IF YOU MUST GO TO UCD ASK FOR ANYONE BUT DR TAM.

UC Davis' first priority is not quality patient care. Their main concern is "teaching" residents how to be doctors. If you don't mind being taken care of by a resident, then go here! Groups of residents, who don't introduce themselves, enter your room daily making guessing as to what is wrong and how to treat you. Maybe the attending will have time to look at their reports, maybe they won't. Specifically our family dealt with one arrogant oncology doctor, Dr. Esenghamat, who didn't think the patient (a retired nurse) or myself, my elderly parent's legal health agent, needed to be given the option to provide consent to treatment with a dangerous chemotherapy drug... guess what Dr E, this is illegal. Protocol for use of this drug was not followed and played a role in my mother's death. It's one thing to treat in an emergent situation without authorization, that of course is understandable; however, this was not the case. Further, Dr E acted insulted that I dared asked to be informed of any new meds being given to my parent and mocked me and directly lied to my face that she had already starting giving my mother a chemo drug, while simultaneously saying she was too weak to start new chemo, and neglected to get consent for treatment while my parent was an inpatient. This is completely unethical as well as goes against the signs posted all over the offices stating UCD wants their patients to be educated and involved in their treatment plan. Laughable, the day my Mom died, they brought her pills and said, "here's your chemo", and my mother said, "what chemo? I'm not on chemo." Again, Dr E had every opportunity to get consent and go over risks vs benefits of staring my mom on this chemo drug and did not do so. You will find some great doctors in the system and nurses but overall I would completely avoid this place! I would like to say their infusion center staff, nurses were overall amazing. Our regular oncologist at least provided treatment information and willingly answered questions.

Naseem Shams Estegham is the worst doctor ever. She gave chemo to my mother without explaining all of the risks and did not get consent. She kept telling us that my mom was not stable enough to start chemo and then weirdly started her on it anyway. Then when my mom was showing signs of Tumor Lysing Syndrome, she increased the dose instead of following the correct protocol of taking her off the chemo and treating her for kidney failure etc. She was more concerned about trying to talk my mom out of full code than she was to actually caring for her and following protocols needed for my mom to survive. She is a horrible doctor and also did not follow basic precautionary protocol to help prevent TLS. She put my mom on this medicine after she had not been on IV fluids for 3 days and was severely dehydrated. The protocol for the drug she put her on is hyperhydration 2 days prior and throughout treatment. My mother was severely dehydrated to due to lasix treatment for fluid overload. The protocol is my mother should have had a urine output of 100 ml per hour while on the chemo drug. My mom's urine output was less than 400 per day, but that did not stop this bitch from giving my mom a chemo drug without permission and then watching my momś organs shut down. She is either stupid or she has a God complex and she wanted to put my mom out of her misery...which is NOT her place to decide. My mom was not ready to die, but this totally incompetent doctor got her wish and killed my mom.

I cannot speak of all employees there, but since cancer is running rampant, thanks to the latest round of jabs, it has been my experience that their cancer center will let you down. Specifically, Rasmus Tetens Hoeg, M.D., as he does not follow up with his CLL patients and will only miss his promised appointments. You are better off going to Stanford as my brother got great care there for his colon cancer. Poor quality care, poor follow up, and lies about what will work are the reason you should avoid this place. Heed my warning now, before you get too sick: Learn herbology, Homeopathy, Chinese, and eat very healthy now, or pay the price later on in life.

My friend was recently diagnosed with cancer, has now waited 5 weeks to get an approval for a PET scan, no fault of the insurance company, just impossible to reach the appropriate party at the oncology Dept at Davis. Today they hung up on her after she and the insurance company representative had been on hold for a half hour - just picked up the line and promptly hung up. Too bad a respected university is putting my friend's life at risk because they can't seem to hire competent staff. No excuse!

Their pharmacy sucks they have a hard time answering the phone very pissed off about this my wife called four times and got hung hung up on four times

We come to this location for hematology concerns. Play better service than Benioff in Oakland or anywhere else. Staff is great right now. Parking is hard since I do a lot of construction well than that. This is the place to come for care.

Nurses are awesome, I'm getting tepezza treatments for my eye disease (ted)

I hate you guys with a passion you are the worst ! Don’t go here unless you want to die they did two surgeries on my dad back to back an gave him a blood infection , he never recovered an now is gone and they gave him way too much radiation,I wish we would of went somewhere else I feel Guilty for recommending this hospital to my dad I thought you guys were suppose to be one of the top hospitals but it’s all a lie you guys want patients to die there so you get paid more 0 stars you guys are garbage an only care about money , my dad was in there for cancer treatment an you guys messed up his surgery An did way too many radiations on him he ended up passing away from a heart attack An ended up on life support they said the cancer was slowly going away but they screwed up all his other organs , he somehow ended up with liquids in his lungs an all around his heart probably from all the times they missed on the IVs pumping all sorts of crap into him, went for cancer an the cancer wasn’t even the reason of death UC Davis killed my father I hate you guys so much nightmare hospital, his arms ended up all swollen from how they missed an couldn’t find his veins one time when I was there they stabbed him like 5 times because they couldn’t find the vein I have so much more bad things I could say too like when they asked my mom if she felt like they were making him better An she said he looks worse than when he got there An after that they said then you should find a different hospital or take him home it made her cry
