Dr. Shane Patterson does not sugar coat things, and do you really want that from someone whos job it is to keep you alive? I respect his honesty and ability to diagnose medical issues. He does not overcomplicate things, and he does not let political correctness get in the way of dispensing the truth. I think its refreshing, even though others might get offended. He is your doctor, hes not paid to be your friend.

On 2 visits, Dr. Patterson took a lot of the officetime talking about his own life stories. Then he asked a lot of questions that wasnt relative to the visit or the diagnosis (as if he was trying to be a psychologist). He also refuted a diagnosis that two other wellestabished doctors had already confirmed because he has a different belief system. If you have another viewpoint, be careful. Dont trust his friendliness. At the core of him, I believe he wants to be a good doctor and wants to be liked. He would be a much better doctor if he incorporated more humility and that he is not the boss. He could benefit from taking time formedical research rather than spouting out wrong/outdated info.

We just moved to this area a little over a year ago.  My 34 year old daughter, had Patterson as her primary physician at the MACT clinic in San Andreas because she has medical.   She has seen him twice.  Once in Nov 19 and once in Jan 20.  She recently had a baby in March of 19.  She went to see him for severe back pain in November, and he fat shamed her.  Did not order any xrays.  He told her that she needs to lose weight.  He even mentioned that she should watch the Bikini Body Workout.  He was so unprofessional.  He told her that he and his wife run two successful businesses and both work out, and if they can do it, that she doesnt have any excuse.  She went again to see him in January of 2020 to help her with her back pain.  Again with the fat shaming and doing absolutely nothing to figure out what the cause of the pain is.  This last weekend, Feb 15, 2020, Saturday, she awoke with severe back pain again and vomiting.  This time the pain was on her lower left side and radiating around to her back.  I watched her baby so she could drive herself to the ER at Sutter in Jackson.  She couldnt even stand upright when she arrived.  The doctor there immediately ordered a CT scan.  They also performed an ultrasound.   They discovered that she had a 8.2cm tumor on her left ovary.  That is 3.2 inches.   They told me that she had an Ovarian Torsion and had to perform emergency surgery that day!  After the surgery, I was told that this cyst had burst and she had internal bleeding.  She had ligaments twisted around her ovary.   She had surgery and had to have her left ovary and her fallopian tube removed.      If this Dr. Patterson would have gotten past his condescending attiutde and had some compassion and behaved like a DOCTOR, he would have ordered TESTS to find the source of her pain.  Instead of treating her like she was shopping for pain meds!    What happened to the Hippocratic Oath of FIRST DO NO HARM?   This doctor should never be allowed to treat patients.  How did he even get his medical license?  When I called his office this morning, the receptionist didnt even want to hear my complaint and referred me to Administration.  Oh sweetheart, I am going to talk to your Administration and  I am ALSO reporting him to the AMA.

Rude, condescending, rough in physical treatment, Im a senior and he fat shamed me, I realize this can just be his personality but his bedside manner is terrible people come to you when theyre feeling bad theyre feeling sick theyre in pain they dont expect to be fat shamed or tried to twist them into a pretzel because their back is hurting especially when theyre over 60 years of age and have arthritis this doctor is not a good fit for anyone who needs compassion.My daughter saw him and now she wont even make an appointment to see a doctor she hasnt been to a doctor in two years because of Dr. Patterson.

Dr. Patterson has been my Doctor for over 4 years. Great attention to your health and care. Recently I fractured my wrist. Texted Dr. Patterson and he responded in less than 5 minutes. I told him I had slipped and hurt my wrist. He set up Xray to be done immediately for me. Went straight to hospital and had Xray done. Dr. Patterson reviewed my Xray and let me know I had fractured my wrist. He set up an appointment for me the next day with an Orthopedic Doctor. Went to appointment and they had surgery scheduled for me the next day. I am so thankful for the excellent treatment I received. Dr Patterson also called me to see how my recovery was going. Thank you Dr Patterson

The most abusive and uncaring doctor with absolutely NO compassion whatsoever.  Filing a complaint with the medical board, as he should NOT be seeing patients.  Twice he absolutely smacked me on my inflamed knee...  whats that all about????  He was not only verbally abusive, but physically as well.  He belongs in a jail cell, not working with people.

I was a patient of Dr. Patterson and wish I still could be, had to leave the area due to Butt fire. Im 65 and have seen my share of Dr.s I cant say enough about him. He went above and be on and was there at my hardest times, I could talk to him about anything. I cried, laugh and felt like I had known him forever. He has a beautiful family that he adores. Since being in the flat lands I cant bring myself to find another Dr. . I know Ill never have the rapport I had with him, Thank You Dr. Patterson

I have enjoyed Dr. Pattersons care for a few years now.  He has been a great doctor.  He has taken good care of me and I enjoy our conversations when we are together.
