This San Bruno VA Clinic although located in San Mateo County is for Veterans from the San Francisco VA system. Veterans from the Palo Alto. VA system cannot use the services at this San Bruno VA Clinic although closer for many veterans. Yet when a Veteran drives 35 miles to Palo Alto are only permitted travel allowance to San Bruno Clinic or SF? Why isn't this a Walk-in Clinic on weekends and longer hours and serve all Veterans from nearby counties and don't have to drive 35 miles to ER for non emergency treatment?

I just want to start out by saying how incredibly GRATEFUL I am for the SB VA!!! My Dad is 82 and has dementia and his ONLY medical coverage is the VA. Everyone here has been great. Like any other medical coverage, you need to do your due diligence to make sure they understand what your needs are. And let me tell you, THEY HAVE COME THROUGH FOR ME. I just cant say enough great things about the San Bruno V.A. My Dad is taken care of and I dont know what I would do without them! Huge thanks to Nurse Stephen, Social worker Angela, doctor Jessica Eng and Dr Cheng for helping me during a very difficult time of taking care of my Dads situation! Nothing but pure LOVE

FREE flu shots at Walgreens with VA card and ID. Low dose not high dose. Don't wait until 28 Sept every year, or later! Sooner the better. . Highly recommend Dr. Robinson, new 3rd year at San Bruno Clinic!

There is absolutely no excuse for me to wait for more than hour. Do not tell me to be here 20-30 mins early just to see me more than 30 mins after the scheduled time.

I've been in this clinic twice and both times just had horrible experience not by the doctors or nurses but with receptionist. Setting an expectations such as wait time is better than saying "I put you in the system already" or "don't look at me, its not my fault your name hasn't been called". Trust me you get a better reaction or response if you pretend to get up and return to your set and let the patient who is waiting to be seen that the doctor is still busy currently. Also, an appointment is an appointment not one hour later and driving back home saying we were looking for you in the parking lot.

I have been to a few VA clinics, but this is my favorite. I like the staff and, most importantly, I had a positive experience with the mental health team. Kelly and Anne are so wonderful. Sadly, I have moved, but I wish I could have taken them with me! Shout out to Jay at the front desk. He is awesome and a veteran.
