A. Grant Kingsbury's Online Review Report Card

I filed a complaint against Dr. Kingsbury with the Medical Board of California after my father's death. Unfortunately, the Board decided not to discipline him, but instead, said he would be sent an "educational letter" to encourage him to provide the highest level of professional care. I warned the Medical Board that if they did not discipline him, other patients would be harmed. They didn't listen.However, a few years later, Kingsbury was caught up in what was called the Medical Board's Death Certificate Project, an investigation of people who had died from prescription overdoses. According to Board documents, Kingsbury prescribed more than 400 vicodin pills to a patient in a six week period, which resulted in an overdose. I attended a Medical Board hearing in which Kingsbury tried to blame the patient for being manipulative. That argument apparently didn't work. In March of 2020, Kingsbury was given 35 months probation after being found responsible for the patient's death. I’m fortunate that Dr. A. Grant Kingsbury has been my primary care physician for more than 20 years. He’s been extremely thoughtful in his approach, management of my health & meds, referrals to other medical professionals and has provided me with invaluable medical care. Nothing but the best care and customer service. He has been my physician for over 20 years and would not see anyone else. I have the utmost trust and confidence in this man. He has bent over backwards for me many times in order to see that I received the best care. Highly recommend.

Good to get along and gets things done

I am very disappointed in the care I've received from Dr.kingsbury. His staff has been rude since day one. They have attitudes and are rude to the very people that pay their stupid salary. - You have to pay to park in the structure. And although I liked his personality- he came off as someone you can't trust because of the lack of follow up. I needed a prescription that I knew my insurance would cover called into my pharmacy- and unlike my old Dr. at kaiser - he couldn't take a few minutes to do his due diligence and do it - or even follow up w a phone call- when asked for one. Switching doctors and filing a grievance. Dissatisfied.

Not interested in helping

Great and friendly doctor, and take time to explain medical issues. Always follow-up results blood test with you.

Dr. K is a gem. He's takes him time, offers wise advice, thinks progressively, and has a great sense of humor. I just read some of the other reviews. Yeah, read them, they're well-written and cover everything I would say.

Dr. Kingsbury has been my primary care physician for the last 16 years, and as far as I'm concerned, he is the best! I live in Carlsbad, but I drive all the way to Hillcrest to see him because it's definitely worth the drive. He's very knowledgeable and caring, and I never feel rushed when I see him.
