Doctor John F. Shega, M.D. & his team are the very best!!! Knowledgeable, friendly, caring & professional you can trust them to get to the cause of any skin issues beyond any doubt!!! I experienced swelling, red irritation on my hands and feet that seemed out of control. My lovely wife had to super glue my fissures in my feet & hands back together just so I could stand at work. I would wear plastic bags over my socks to keep my feet from bleeding through my shoes daily. I had almost lost hope & did not know what to do anymore. Dr. Shega & his awesome team literally saved from excruciating pain on a daily basis. Dr. Shega was so knowledgeable he got to the root of the problem. I can not find the words to thank you & your team enough. These folks can save your skin!! These were my hands and feet & not the worse photos, don't want to gross anyone out. I am forever grateful to you, bless you.

Dr Shega is awesome and is saving lives. He has wonderful Nurses that bandage you and have a very caring attitude after your surgery. The office staff is efficient and there is never a long wait because of their efficiency in scheduling appointments.

I wish to doctor she guy 20 years ago for the removal of a couple of weird looking moles with the laser everything was fantastic and they were removed successfully. Recently I had to go back for the removal of other things and I had the same experience in 2019 20 years later not only that it does not appear that the doctor has aged Lol......

I have been a patient for some time because I have a fair complexion and received a lot of sun exposure over the years - so there are many skin issues that have surfaced over time. Dr. Shega is great - he is very experienced and knowledgeable. Any questions I have are always answered fully so that I understand. He is very personable as well as professional, as is the staff - they make me feel almost like family. As in any doctor's office, the earlier in the day that I make the appointment, the less time I spend in the waiting room. Things tend to run behind later in the day. I have had only one issue with insurance over the years and that, with a little patience, got resolved eventually (actually it was more the fault of worker's comp than the doctor's). I can always get appointments within a reasonable period of time and the office location is so convenient. I highly recommend Dr. Shega.

Worst experience I have ever had in what is supposed to be a "professional" environment. I went in on 3/29 because my insurance was doing a special for a $30 co pay which I paid in cash that day. The entire staff was extremely uncomfortable to be around aside from the receptionist who gave me paperwork to fill out. After I was seen, the other receptionist basically told me I could not come back because the special my insurance was having ended that day so why was I even seen in the first place? Overall the place is extremely out dated, unprofessional and I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life with the dermatologist there. 3 months later I get a letter in the mail asking for the $30 co pay that "they never received" and threatening to take me to small claims court. I'm honestly not even surprised that they pulled it & i'm sure they've done it to others as well. Take my advice and find a different dermatologists. If you're in San Diego there are plenty of other nice and professional places to go to.

DO NOT GO HERE! I have never felt more robbed of my time and money in my entire life. After waiting two hours saw the doctor for 20 seconds to be charged $90(with insurance) would've been $180 without insurance just to see someone who told me same exact same thing that I told the nurse an hour ago. Wait time is ridiculous and pricing is absurd. Horrible service. DO NOT GO HERE!!
