Acupuncture Wellness Center, Alison Schaeffer L.Ac's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to L.AC Alison Schaeffer for about 6 months plus. I’m a navy vet with very bad chronic back pain amongst other injuries. This was my first time being treated by acupuncture and it has been nothing but an amazing experience. L.AC Schaeffer provided a great experience for my first session and beyond. I was quite nervous and not used to having needles all over my body like that. However, L.ac Schaeffer was able to help me relax using deep breathing/calming voice of affirmations. My chronic back pain didn’t just go away however I’m in such a better place physically. I can walk out of a session feeling zero lower back for most of the day and helps ease my lower back, neck and shoulder pain for some of the week. I’ve been in at least 20-25 sessions. I have teared up during a few sessions from the relief of back pain and have felt that acupuncture “high” that some people say they have experienced. L.ac Schaefer’s patient care and customer service has been amazing. Greatly appreciate you L.ac Schaefer! Looking forward to continuing acupuncture as I progress on my journey of becoming physically restored. Even if you don’t go to see L.ac Schaeffer please try acupuncture and see if it helps! It’s been a life changing experience for me. Starting to feel I can finally push further in my Physical Therapy. Will be coming here for life.

I went to this place because I was in desperate need. I have never been to an acupuncturist before. I hate needles. I spent the night before in the ER. I had what they think was a punched nerve. Well, the session was uncomfortable - she poked me a few places and did cupping which looks like huge hockey's all over my back. But, THREE HOURS AFTER THE SESSION THE PAIN STOPPED. I have never been so happy to be all bruised up. I feel better!

I was in the worst pain of my life next to child birth. Went to the ER the night before. All they could do was tell me I had a pinched nerve and send me home with lots of pain killers. Whatever they gave me really wasn't working. I called Alison out of desperation. I really hate needles. She did some acupuncture and cupping. It wasn't comfortable, she it left funny bruising on my back and I left her office, still in pain still. BUT THREE HOURS AFTER THE SESSION, THE PAIN STOPPED! I've never been so happy to have a bruised up back. I researched it, the bruising isn't really bruising (it kind of looks like one big hickey) whatever this technique is, it increased blood flow.

Dr. Schaefer is a magician with those acupuncture needles. She’s very knowledgeable and cares about her patients overall health. I have a disc protrusion in my lower back and her treatments saved me from an invasive surgery. I’d give her a 6th star but Google won’t let me.

A neighborhood gem. A nice tranquil place of restoration for my aching back and stress. I really enjoy the fact that it is hassle free with no waiting time for appointments. I hate nothing more than having to sit in a waiting room for long periods of time to be seen. This is extremely helpful with a tight schedule. The office has a home like quality with a friendly staff. Highly recommended.

From the first appointment, I knew that I was in great hands! Alison started treating me about 2 weeks after I was in the hospital for a flare up with my chronic pain. Some days I could barely walk and could not find relief. The office is in a great location, in addition to easy parking and an elevator if you need it. It's very peaceful and welcoming when you walk in. Each of the treatment rooms are super clean, cozy, and comfortable. Alison's experience is beyond impressive. One really important thing to remember is that you should feel comfortable. Tell her if you need to change positions or if you are in pain. She wants you to feel relaxed and be able to get relief from each and every treatment. I love the time I get to meditate in between the acupuncture and cupping. From the first session I left the office with relief and it felt euphoric. For years I didn't have an escape from my chronic nerve pain during the day, let alone the week. Since I've started seeing Alison, this has changed. Even if you don't understand how acupuncture or cupping works, I'd highly recommend trying treatment with Alison. She has a lot to offer with her expertise and knowledge.

Allison is the best. My girlfriend and I are doing so much better. Girlfriend was dealing pinched nerve so bad she could not sleep Allison came in on a Saturday to help her.

Wonderful. I've been receiving acupuncture treatment from Alison regularly for over a year and have had great results for a multitude of issues including tinnitus and stress. Her work and the environment are both very healing.

Pretty terrible first experience. Came in to help with stress, migraines and pain. There was no explanation of what she was about to do, or why, just started putting needles in. It was not a calming experience, she seemed distracted and rushers Left me to breathe for 10 mins and the music turned off so I just lay there and listened to people in the parking lot (window was open). Couldn't relax or focus. Then she had me take my top off and flip over as she left the room. I laid there for probably another 10 mins, no music, no idea where she went. It was an uncomfortable amount of time to leave me like that. Tempted to get up and leave. Then she comes back apologizing, she had to help someone else? Apologizes for the music, bad wiring? She closed window to block out loud parking lot, and then dives right into cupping without any explanation. I had to ask what the purpose was. And then she told me about the bruising. Then used a scraper tool which was super intense without explaining. I left feeling less relaxed than I did showing up. Paid $130 to be stressed, confused, anxious, and frankly bruised and beaten up. So. I wouldn't recommend :( Further- they offered me a refund to not post this review. Further- refund never came through and now they won't respond to any of my messages to resolve Overall it's just getting worse and worse

This place is awesome!! I was very skeptical about acupuncture. This was a last resort. I went in last Thursday with SEVERE back pain. Alison Schaeffer worked her magic and I woke up the next morning pain free!! I just did another session yesterday and woke up this morning feeling even better! I highly recommend this place!! Go in and prove me wrong! Thank you Alison!!
