Alexander R. Shikhman's Online Review Report Card

I had been exclusively seeing his PA when I should've moved on quickly to Shikhman and using his PA as a backup. Shikhman is markedly more knowledgeable...rightfully as he has more credentials than a mid-level. Some of their reception staff could use some customer service training. But Sarah and Alina are great, as are their medical assistants, particularly Katherine.

I’m debating even going to the office now.. Office staff are short and impatient. You don’t feel welcomed or supported AT ALL. They asked me questions in a way that makes it clear they dont want you if you dont meet all of their qualifications ie. “you cant come if you dont…” BTW - I met all qualifications, insurance, network, finances etc… but i just got a really bad vibe… dont normally post EVER but this was pretty bad. ALSO, be warned… if you dont confirm their appt, in person, (text is not ok) by 3:00 the day they call you they cancel you?! What’s the point of making an appt…? Charge me for no show if you must, but cancel the appointment? I spoke to 2 people on the phone today (because I had to verify my own insurance and then call them back and prove it) both of them were completely money focused and didnt express any interest in why i might need the doctor. This is obviously their office culture. I decided to read some reviews and clearly my intuition was right.. I want to feel like they want to help me and my $600 is appreciated. By the time I’ve written this, I dont think I’ll be going, even though I am desperate for help.

I was scheduled for knee replacement, and I saw Doctor Shikhman for his opinion. In moments he discovered my problem and treated me. I have been pain free, and I have enjoyed full mobility. Doctor Shikhman is exceptionally knowledgeable and skillful.

It has been a while since I met Dr Shikhman and wanted to make sure he was still working in the area before referring him to yet another person. I like some of his other grateful patients share a similar story. I had seen doctors for 11 years before I went back to rheumatologist for the third time and discovered Dr Shikhman and after years of lots of no answers and being dismissed he diagnosed me. He’s a quiet gentle soul that cares deeply about his patients, medicine and getting to the bottom of the issue, and that he did and I will be forever grateful. There are not many doctors like him, going above and beyond that seem to reach into other areas of science and research to find answers and solutions. Honestly, I saw him when he was associated with Scripps Torrey Pines so staffing…. What impressed me even more was that he saw me in his office at 7:30am on a SATURDAY, the day my life changed as did that of my two kids. He approaches health as a science and seems to love it. He may not be perfect however, I believe if you have an unresolved issue, he is your best shot at finding out what’s going on.

Dr Shihkman's out of the box thinking led to a diagnosis and smple treatment that alluded many other doctors. I am so thankful to FINALLY feel better!! I don't know if he's a genius or a nut, but he has given me my life back!

I have been in to Dr. Shikhman's office three times. All he has done is sold me supplements that do nothing. Twice I have been told he wants blood drawn and both times I have been told there was a problem and someone was "working on it". Nobody will tell me what the problem is however. This has been going on since February. When I ask to speak to Dr. Shikhman on the phone, I am told I cannot - he does not do telephone calls. When I try to set up an appointment via telemedicine, I am told he does not do that either. So I am left with a lot of very expensive supplements and two blood draws that, "have a problem". It seems to me that this is extremely unprofessional if not questionable in terms of standards of care in the medical community. I will not be returning (obviously) to his office which is "too busy" to tell me what is going on with my health.

Dr. Shickman I’d good but his office staff is horrible! The office manager is disrespectful and unhelpful. They didn’t note my file correctly and there was an $8 fee that I disputed. They treated me as the problem and canceled me!! A patient - and refused me to seek medical attention. A company, organization, office is only as good as it’s employees. She should be ashamed and my experience was DREADFUL! I therefore could never recommend that office!!

Like I said, I'd recommend them but with reservations. They're fine if you wish to try to treat w/hardcore antibiotics but they won't restore overall terrain. This is as good as it gets with this.

I went to 7 doctors before I was Introduced to Dr. Shikhman and his staff. He was the only one who cared enough to stick with me and really dive down and see what was going on with my body and help. I was dismissed by other docs. Now his office is home to PA Neehnah. Who is so caring. She talks to us with out feeling rushed. The office staff ... Sarah is top notch. She’s so knowledgeable and has an eagerness to help. I highly recommend IFSmed.

This one star is not for treatment or any other treatment issue! ***Attention NEW PATIENTS**** If you only confirm your appointment by SMS or text message your appointment will be canceled** I waited 2 months for my appointment to discover that because they did not have a VERBAL CONFIRM for Dr. Shikhman the day before (his policy) regardless of the sheer fact that I gave a C for confirm and got 'your appointment is confirmed' Just to let you know my husband works nights so my phone is off during the time he sleeps! I now must wait 2 more months to get an appointment!!! So please new patients verbally confirm your appointment or it will be cancelled!
