List of Alisa L. Williams's Reviews
Years back I was diagnosed with endometriosis on my intestine. Whoever has had endometriosis knows how painful it is! An obgyn doctor in Scripps La Jolla said he'd had to cut part of my intestine and vagina! I was horrified of the surgery that he would perform and said it'd be 6 hours long. I was lucky to be recommended to Dr. Williams. She said I had the option to take birth control pills!!! The pills really mitigated the pain. When I went into menopause the tissue would just slowly disintegrate. At that time i was in my 40's and yes it disintegrated as Dr. Williams had said when I enter menopause. I'm now 66 years old and wanted to share this experienced. Ask for 2nd opinions do not rely on doctors that only see their professions as a lucrative business. Thank you Dr. Alisa Williams for making it all possible for patients to have the best medical care !
She's awesome and is so attentive of my questions and concerns. I wouldn't have any other Dr.
Doc Williams has been not just my best doc, but the great resource for recommending other doctors my family needed, for almost two decades now. Really like her, a great doctor, superbly knowleadgable and trustworthy, caring, thoughtful, straightworfard while always open to discuss my ideas and options. Being funny helps as well :-). For the last years I happen to go to dr. Luanne, as Dr Williamson was super busy, and I like her as well, super nice, and friendly.
So glad I found her, she really took the time to get to know what I was looking for in a birth control and didn't give me the whole "you're too young, you'll change your mind" runaround when I asked about getting a tubal. She respected me as a woman and worked with my insurance to advocate for me.
I am so grateful to have found Dr. Williams and her team. I've been with them for around two years and they continue to outshine my expectations with their care. Her entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very responsive. Dr. Williams is the best OB/GYN I've had in all of my 50 years. She listens. She pays attention to her patients' medical history. She is experienced and takes time to provide insight and explain her opinions. And what I love most about her is her direct, no-BS approach.
I saw Dr. Williams for the 1st time on April 12, 2021. She is an awesome doctor! I suffer from anxiety and it was hard following up on a few gynecological issues. Dr. Williams was very patient, kind and she took the time to answer a LOT of questions. At the end of the appointment, I felt more at ease. Her nurse and the front office staff were also very nice. I would definitely recommend Dr. Williams, and I will be coming back to her in the future!
Uhm Dr. Williams is probably one of my favorite people! I am kind of surprised by the bad reviews here. I started seeing her in early 2019 when I moved to SD and I'm glad I found her. I've only visited a few times so far (annuals/paps/general things) but she has always been extremely kind and caring. She never makes you feel rushed or judged. I wish I was living in SD longer so I could continue going to her long term. Highly highly recommend!
I'll preface this by stating I've been afraid to go to the gynaecologist and get a Pap smear or a general exam for years. Ive never been sexually active and thus was so afraid of the exam hurting down there due to the lack of stretching. This put me off going for so long but I finally chose to suck it up and go in, because if I wasn't going to go at 23 when I still wasn't active, when would I? But it turns out I had nothing to worry about. Dr. Williams was so kind and reassuring as well as matter of fact about everything. She didn't see any problems and put me at ease through the entire experience. She discussed how the exam worked and made sure to use a smaller speculum, which made a big difference in that I barely felt anything at all. The Dr. talked through what she was doing and when she did the swab for the Pap smear, I barely felt anything! This was so unlike the uncomfortable experience I built up in my head and read about with so many women. It didn't hurt, and that was such a relief after so many years of being afraid of doing the exam. And the feeling around of the uterus and ovaries didn't hurt either; her pointing them out was actually pretty cool. Overall, it was easy, fast, and felt fine, and I still feel fine now an hour later. Dr. Williams was also amazing about noting my female family history, my personal period experiences, and discussing birth control. She was kind and reassuring, and had a motherly and friendly demeanour that really helped me feel good about the experience. I was very impressed and look forward to having her as the gynaecologist I go to in the future. In addition, I'll note that the receptionist and male (nurse?) were sweet and friendly too. I felt comforted and relieved in my brief talks with them. The whole office atmosphere helped me relax which made the exam that much easier. Also wanted to stage that I loved the plants inside, especially the purple looking one. If you are feeling as nervous and scared as I was about getting checked out for female issues, definitely come to Dr. Williams. I know I will in the future.
I feel I wasted my time and money. I went in for pelvic pain. She did an exam and said it's probably not gynecological but sent me out for an ultrasound. I've yet to have a gyno who doesn't have one in the office so that was strange. Also annoying as it required an additional appt. She said in the interim she'd request some medical records (with my permission of course) from a recent pelvic surgery I'd had to see if that could be involved. After getting my ultrasound I never heard from her. I called the office to make an appt to get my results (again, more time and $). She told me everything looked fine, the cysts that showed up in the ultrasound are normal (). When I asked her if the surgery notes gave any clue she said they didn't send the notes, just the procedure. I'm not sure why she didn't ask them for the notes or let me know to request more info. Probably because she hadn't even looked at what they sent over until I asked. Overall I felt the level of care, both medically and bedside manner, was poor. She basically said she didn't know what's wrong and was done trying to figure it out as it wasn't a gyno thing, and gave me no clue as to where I could go next for answers.
Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't have enough stars for Dr. Wlliams. Today was my first visit with Dr. W. and I dreaded it after reading the negative reviews. I was very surprised at how patient she was at explaining my choices of treatments for my problem. She took quite a bit of time with me. When I said I'd never remember everything she said, she said to get on her portal and sure enough, within an hour of getting home, I had it on my email. Also, her front-office personnel are just as nice and caring. I really lucked out with her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
