Cortica Care in Scottsdale AZ, has the worse service, my son has not received services in over a month. School services started without my knowledge and only when services were going to stop, was I notified that school services started. They dropped the ball multiple times, they have a lot of turnover, make promises and appointments they cannot keep. They are truly horrible people to treat those that need them like this.
I was initially very mad with Cortica, since it was taking forever to set up initial evaluation and service from them. BUT IT TOTALLY WORTH IT. Start as soon as possible. Their service is amazing, I only get ABA from them, they are very organized with detail plans to get things done. Also they provided developmental pediatrician which is super challenging to find. I love you Cortica, you helped me through the moat difficult time of my life.
Highly Professional
Highly Professional and caring
The team here is so collaborative and child focused. My son feels at home whenever we are here for his appointments.
It's been so helpful for the neurological development of the kids
We made an appointment 3 months ago, and were supposed to have our welcome visit today. In the two reminder emails they sent me there was no link to the Zoom call, and when we called the company 15 minutes prior to our appointment to get a link, we didn't get a call back for half an hour, which caused us to miss our appointment. When we were finally called back the representative said it was our fault, that they had sent the email and that I had opened it. We again explained that we did receive a reminder email, that it did not include a link, and she AGAIN said we must have missed it because the email showed "opened" on their end. When SHE finally opened the email she saw that we did not, in fact, have a link. After being rescheduled we made sure that we would not be charged the $50 24-hour cancelation fee, which had already been added to our balance! She said that she would "make a note" to request that it be discharged since it was their fault that we missed the appointment. I am concerned about going forward with this company if this is the level of care and lack oversight that we receive just to join! If they can't even get their ducks in a row before the actual patient care takes place, how can I be sure that they will take care of my son when he is being treated? This unfortunate event comes on the heels of a really bad experience with a different company, so I am losing faith in carers for children with autism in general. Seems it is just a money grab for large healthcare companies. :(
Be careful: very unethical clinic that uses fraudulently bills insurance!I really doubted any 5-star reviews on this provider.Currently there is a shortage for ABA technicians in San Diego. They took advantage of stressed parents. They wanted me to provide insurance information and filled out financial agreement paperwork's.The first 'welcoming telephone call' lasts 10 mins. A nurse talked to me and figured out a few more appointments that I need. Then a scheduler made the appointments for me. For this call, they billed my insurance $350, which still left me to pay $40 of copay. They used bill code 99204. This is typically for 45 minutes that are spent face-to-face with the patient and/or family. This code also "requires these 3 key components: A comprehensive history; A comprehensive examination; Medical decision making of moderate complexity".I wasn't seen by a psychologist, where are these examination or medical decision? Then I looked the paperwork they sent to me. There are eight items that you might have to pay similar to this one, before your kids can receive ABA therapy. At last, because there is a shortage, they don't even know when they can send an ABA technician to you home. You will be put on a waitlist only, after you go through all the eight items on their cost estimates summary.
The clinician we met with was professional but warm and made us feel comfortable from the first moment we met her. Prior to our appointment they were able to schedule other services to expedite my son receiving care. The only complaint is that it took months to get an appointment. The staff at Cortica is wonderful and very communicative, responsive, and they follow through.
Friendly, professional staff and wonderful doctors that go above and beyond. We're so appreciative of Cortica.
