List of Crownview Medical Group & Mental Health Services San Diego's Reviews
I just switched to a different provider in the same office. I feel very comfortable with Ms. Umansky and am glad I was able to become her patient.
Outstanding, professional, with a charming environment. Best of the best nurse practitioners and doctors provide here.
I have been a patient at Crownview Medical Group in Coronado for over 3 years. The staff have always been incredibly helpful, professional and kind. My psychiatrist, Christina, is a great listener and has done a phenomenal job helping me find treatments suitable for me. The front office staff including Betty-Jo, Erica, Ana and Ariana have been supportive in navigating prescription refills and scheduling appointments. Ana even went above and beyond to help me find my phone when I left it in my uber on my way to their office. The staff at Crownview are considerate and accommodating, and I make the trip from La Jolla (25 minutes) just to be seen by them. I wouldn’t trade them for a doctor’s office down the street if I could, and I continue to recommend them to friends and family.
Absolutely horrific place, words can't even describe. If you want psychiatric/mental health care, you're better off going to a dentist or a car dealership than this fkn place. For many years across multiple platforms, people have been complaining about the receptionist Ariana and frankly she is a perfect example of the diagraceful quality of care the place provides.
Don't bother with this place. I made an appointment with a nurse practitioner last week. This was only because all the psychologists seem to do telahealth instead of in person visits anymore. So, I go in to work early so I can make my appointment at 3:45 PM. When I arrived and checked in, the inform me that they have cancelled my appointment for the day. They said they called me to let me know, but I didn't not receive such a call, voicemail, or even a text. I did receive a reminder text at noon about my 3:45 appointment though. I was told I could reschedule via a telahealth appointment with the practitioner for the next day. I said nevermind, I'll find another place. I had read the reviews of many other people also having their appointments canceled, but they were old reviews. Surely the office has got their act together, right? But guess not. I'm glad I wasn't a patient in emotional stress and needed someone to talk to right away.
extremely hostile and antagonistic front office. these people do not want to help you, they have no compassion for you, they make you feel like you are an inconvenience for them, a hassle. I'm utterly shook how little empathy they have on display, how they refuse to hear me out. They interpret issues that I'm having as personal attacks and are quick to throw their hands up in the air. "I feel like I'm not being heard" into "okay then we'll make sure especially not to listen to you". it's absolutely baffling. The way they just go about their process seems really irresponsible and averse to helping the patient. I would caution people against going here, but I have no other options.
pros: - making an appointment was quick cons: - the nurse practitioner (who is not a psychiatrist) did not make me feel heard. tried to imply that my attention issues were affected by my sleep patterns (I get a full night's rest every night, the times I go to sleep can vary though, basically a completely non relevant issue; biphasic sleep patterns exist all over the world since forever). - insisted on starting a medication from a class of meds that have a demonstrated history of not working for me (epinephrine modulators). - wanted me to take a computerized test that gave me the impression it would be used as a diagnostic tool (these tests are virtually useless for diagnosis). ms perez (note that these people are not doctors) was assertive which would have been a good trait if it felt like she actually wanted to help me, but instead it seems like she was looking for any out possible to not give me the first line treatment that I very obviously require. so unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for seeking ADHD treatment. I know it's because of the legal stigma around medication which is why these places don't want to prescribe them, but it's also something that we know is a safe, effective treatment and I meet all of the diagnostic criteria as outlined in the DSM V, so the experience did not feel productive. It instead felt dismissive and invalidating. there was no effort to understand who I am or what I need. the attempts to relate to me came off as unusually patronizing and condescending, rather than empathetic. The plan for care was opaque and so mishandled that it was almost obvious that it was meant to set me up for failure. the front office is also the most hostile and uncaring experience I have ever had in healthcare. they were shouting me down as I was trying to explain myself, making accusations and belittling me. the level of professionalism was nonexistent, I am left baffled with how people so bitter and cruel could allow themselves to work in mental health care. It seems I am far from alone in my experiences. for your own sanity, seek care elsewhere. the people who work here should feel ashamed.
They keep us waiting 30-60 minutes every time we come here because they forget to thaw the medication we need. It’s ortageous, get your shit together please people.
My nurse practitioner, Myriame, was extremely thorough on my initial intake. I moved from another state so had to establish care in Coronado.
After a rough start with my previous psychiatrist Dr. Sidransky, switching to Dr. Melden has made a difference in my mental health, and I’m satisfied with the care I’ve received thus far. They’re always busy but they do their best. I’ve had a great experience with the staff at Crownview, Ariana and Kim (I believe her name is) have been especially helpful with medication requests and refills, always going above and beyond. They’ve been very patient with my situation, big thanks to them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
