List of David Fabi's Reviews
I didn't know the "old country" doctor could be found any longer, especially in a very nice young doctor. He walked into the room and apologized for me having to wait so long. He was and is worth the wait! Not only him but each person in the office. We had immediate confidence in and a connection with him. I am in the very BEST hands for my hip surgery!!!
Dr. Fabi was recommended by a friend for my Total Knee Replacement. I had put off my surgery for a number of years, because of the complications of another TKR with a different surgeon. I expressed my fears with Dr.Fabi, and he took the time to discuss them with me. The fact that he was willing to spend that extra time with me had a tremendous impact on my mindset. His staff was both courteous and accommodating in scheduling appointments and the surgery itself. My post surgical recovery has been amazing. Fifteen days after surgery I have been released for outpatient therapy. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Dr Fabi is a physician you can talk to. Having had multiple surgeries over many years, his ability to listen to me and deal with my concerns ranks him as the best.
Dr Fabi addressed all my concerns about my now 7 week recovery from knee replacement. I felt that I, as well as my questions, were important to him and I did not feel rushed at all. I even got a hug of reassurance that Im going to be ok. Thankyou! I needed that!
Hip Replacement from Hell! It has been just over a year since Dr. Fabi replaced my left hip. This was the the worst medical decision of my life. I am a very active 72 year old and climbed mountains, skied and traveled extensively. I had some discomfort in my left hip, for a number of years. Dr. Fabi assured me that I would still be able to do these activities without the pain. I read his good reviews and the industry propaganda on easy recovery hip replacements. Non of the assurances turned out to be true. My replaced hip is now painful most of the time, even when trying to sleep. I have not had a good night sleep since the operation. My surgery left my left leg 20 mm shorter than my right leg, that is .787 inches. Industry info says that anything more than 5mm can cause real pain problems. I now have almost a full inch difference in length. Without shoe lifts, I walk badly lopsided. Dr. Fabi had me doing full weight PT the day after my surgery, which was a big mistake! I called for an appointment earlier, as I had discomfort, but they did not schedule me for my first post op visit, until a full 19 days after surgery! Dr. Fabi first reaction was one of shock upon looking at the x-rays. He said oh, there has been some slippage of the femoral stem. He said you should not put full weight on that leg any further for now. What I soon found out was that the damage was already done. Dr. Fabi never offered to measure the length difference on subsequent visits, as he seemed in denial about the problem. I then took it upon myself to check with other Specialist. I had my PT Doctors measure on 4 occasions and they confirmed 20mm length shortage each time. I also went to a Scripps Podiatrist and then to the top Hip Surgeon at Scripps, they both verified the 20mm length discrepancy. My last visit with Dr. Fabi was September 28th 2022. During that visit Dr. Fabi, still without a proper measurement, offered Revision Surgery. I was certainly open to the idea, as my present situation was a nightmare. In passing, he said he could make about a 5mm length improvement from the Revision Surgery. In checking with the Scripps Hip Surgeon office, regarding Revision Surgery, they said that Revision Surgery was a lot more dangerous than the original replacement and that a 5mm adjustment, with a 20mm shortage would not come close to solving the problem. They said, they would not take the risk based on that possible result. They said the only way to address the issue was to replace the other hip, in hopes that it would match the short leg, but would not even take that risk, if the right hip was not a problem. That meeting was disappointing but a refreshing bit of truth. Finally I have not heard a word from Dr. Fabi or his offices since Sept 28, 2022 or for 6 months. Dr. Fabi never checked in with me, offered to measure the length difference or advised me on the lifts I now needed, for all my shoes, or the height of the lifts, or the best type of lifts. I have spend hundreds trying different lifts, styles and heights to relieve the back and hip pain. I have tried extensive PT and massage to relieve the pain. Nothing has worked to date. I felt I had a good 10 more years, of enjoying my favorite activities. With my real hip I never felt disabled, but now I truly feel I have a disability. I feel my quality of life has been severely diminished from this botched hip replacement. The joy and tranquility of being pain free, will probably not be possible, for the rest of my life. Just be aware and study the procedure throughly regarding possible bad outcomes. Since my surgery I have read that length discrepancies are pretty common. I also talked to several people with poor length outcomes and related pain results. It is not always the "walk in the park" they say it will be!
Dr. Fabi is wonderful, caring and takes his time with me. He asks questions and is thoughtful.
I am very happy with my full knee replacement surgery 6 months ago, and the follow up visits by Dr. Fabi. I am 77 years old and my progress from 1st day after surgery has been remarkable to both myself and physical therapists. Dr Fabi has my full confidence as a gifted surgeon and caring medical professional.
Five Star service from a Five Star Dr!
My Husband and I felt that Dr. Fabi was in a hurry to get out of our room. Very little information was given. We had to ask questions to even get as much information that we got. We were very disappointed.
For years I had knee pain and the other doctors jus gave me injections. Dr Fabi was very attentive since the first appointment, and gave me solutions. So, he did my knee replacement and I’m very happy with the results.
I received the best care from Dr. Fabi and his team that I could have hoped for. He is a caring and skilled surgeon and I am grateful that I found him for my healthcare needs. I recommend him to everyone looking for a great orthopedic doctor. 3/14/23 Tracy Richmond

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
