Don’t believe everything you read. I read this reviews and it breaks my heart. I only have 100 positive experience with Dr Smith and his staff. Yes at times you have to wait for long time but it’s all worth it for the care they give you. Dr Smith and is staff are the professional and outstanding pain management I’ve ever been to. I’ve been a long time patient at least 14 years and I can not say thank you enough.

Well, it's Tuesday, December 27 and my pain pump was supposed to be filled on Friday last week. I went on line and discovered the reason WHY I've been getting the run around from this doctor. Just google lawsuits against Dr David James Smith and you too will be enlightened. Run don't look back at this practice. I don't think they will be in practice much longer.....

Although I waited over two hours yesterday to get my pump filled, Dr Smith himself came up from his surgeries downstairs and filled my pump. I called back today to check on some symptoms I was having, and Alejandra answered the phone on the first ring, I was put through to a nurse immediately and I had ALL my questions answered. It turned out I was incorrect about the consen ration and the amount I was getting. So please disregard my previous post. I believe that Dr Smith is a competent doctor, he just needs to get his staff on line with his standards. I don't know what it's like to work for him, but I think it might be pretty tough. So-if you have LOADS of patience and don't mind waiting hours to be seen, then he really isn't a bad choice for Pain Managment.

Well, it's now a full week PASSED MY FILL DATE AND I FINALLY GOT MY PUMP FILLED! I went from 25% concentration @ 11 mg a day, DOWN TO 10% concentration @ 10 mg a day! So if you are a pump patient then you KNOW what I'm saying. They called me Wednesday late morning and said I could come in at one but they KNOW I don't drive and I had to find a ride the next morning. I got there at 8:30 and was brought back to the pump room at 9. Then I waited. FINALLY DR SMITH CAME IN AND FILLED MY PUMP. I was handed my sheets and I left. This was 10:55. So I get home and I look at the sheets. That's when I noticed the change in concentration and AMOUNT. Both of which are lower than I was at 9 years ago! I'm going to different practice tomorrow. You can't get through to Dr Smith OR HIS STAFF. So if you are a pump patient AVOID THIS PRACTICE THEN YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I HAVE. I was alarming for 29 hours! Ridiculous!

Well it's Wednesday morning and I STILL HAVEN'T HAD MY PAIN PUMP REFILLED!I'm terribly disappointed that no one has returned my calls. I know for a fact that I was LIED TO when I was told that the reason why the medication wasn't here yet was the hurricane that hit the upper east coast of Florida! Except that's NOT WHERE IT COMES FROM. Apparently just MY pump refill wasn't ordered and NO ONE IS TELLING ME WHY! Maybe I should just go to another specialist.,,, I will let you all know if I decide this is the last time that I allow them to screw me around...AGAIN! If it runs out I will have to have it REPLACED UNDER ANESTHESIA FOR NO GOOD REASON! The pump is less than a year old!

I have been coming here for years and boy has the quality of care gone downhill! I only see doctor Smith when something goes wrong with my pain pump. I have now been waiting over a YEAR for injections in my neck and lower back. I'm told by the nurse in the pump room that they put in the order, I wait for the phone call to schedule-NOTHING! His staff used to have some kind and caring people, now only the mean and desperate seem to be the only people he has working for him now. This past December my pump stopped working (@6 years!) and I had to wait TWO WEEKS TO GET IT REPLACED! By that time I had gone through bone crushing withdrawals and I was so weak I could barely move.Since then, I have barely had my pump increases in order to get my pain under any type of control. However Dr Sharon Thompson at least understands and has given me several rate increases recently.Now it's almost the end of the year, no Dr Thompson, no Medication (coming only from Florida!) because of a November hurricane and my alarm has gone off. I'll be back to tell you what happens....

Very professional Dr. Smith and his team are very knowledgeable and Sufficient and taking care of my needs and the level of pain I Endure every day. Office is always clean staff is amazing.

It's never easy going in & telling someone each month what hurts, how much, why but it does & its getting worse every day. Now my shoulders are a great source of pain & discomfort. I feel like less of a person, ya know? I hate it, I hate pain but it takes over every day. Thanx.

I am very upset with the level of care I am experiencing from this clinic. I have a referral that was written in February of 2022. I have been to my doctor for referral three times each time the referral was faxed to Dr Smith's office. Today, March 29, they claim they just now received it. I have chronic debilitating degenerative disc disease with problems in cervical, lumbar,and thoracic regions of my spine. I am in severe pain every moment. When I called today, I was informed,they just received this referral, and have not read it. They have many patients, and refused to help me. I asked to speak to the doctor, and was told The doctor doesn't answer calls . I am feeling frustrated and angry and consider this to be substandard care. I would caution others to avoid this clinic. They do not provide care they provide a source of aggravation and denial to people that are severely affected,With callous disregard, and disrespect. I have tried repeatedly to give them a chance to resolve this poor service, and since they aren't helping me, I am making this Yelp review.
