Erik Hogen's Online Review Report Card

We took our 10 day old newborn to Dr. Hogen's office at Scripps. He is just amazing. He did a thorough examination and was super gentle with the baby.

He was my children's doctor for my 2 kids for a long time and he really make sure that they are well taken care.Very admirable!Thanks Doctor for all the years!God bless you and your family.

Best Pediatrician ever. He gives logical explanation on why kid falls sick and what you can do, why he is prescribing medication and all other related options.

He is a very nice, knowlegeble, and helpful doctor.

Five stars. Dr. Hogen is my son's primary physician. Kid had a a twisting injury to the ankle and doctor took care of it. He and his office followed up multiple times and I am very appreciative of the care and concern they showed.

Dr. Hogen has been my daughters doctor for the past 9 years and we absolutely love him and nurse Connie. He always takes the time to listen and he talks not only to me, but to my daughter as well. Nurse Connie is amazing as well! We have never had a bad experience. He is attentive and explains options for situations and takes our concerns to heart. I would highly recommend Dr. Hogen.

He saw my daughter for earache, just checked the ear, no recommendation, did not examine her other than looking into ears, did not check her growth and development, after a month I wanted to make a well child check appointment and I was told he charged our insurance for well child check and we can not make an appointment for physical for a year. He charged us for physical even he did not do any exams, that is malpractice. I don't recommend him,you can trust his judgment!

I am going to Dr Hogan for my son since his birth, very knowledgeable, very calm and caring, very good with kids. His nurse is very knowledgeable, very good at making sure patients follow rules to keep hygienic environment, but not so good attitude. The way she speaks to parents sometime feels very humiliating, I have thought couple of times to switch doctor because of her attitude. But I really like Dr Hogen so hanging in there. I hope she corrects her attitude.

I have 3 little kids so we are at pediatrician's office a lot with each of them having this or that going on. Dr. Hogen is simply the best. Very calm and detailed. His exams are gentle and he communicates with children very well. I would highly recommend him. I am not sure about one comment here about his nurse. They must be talking about someone who covered for his regular nurse Connie. She is the most gentle nurse I have seen in a long time. She was a nurse of the year for the whole of Scripps Clinic network couple years ago based on patient review and that says a lot. Dr. Hogen has treated my children without the appointment (brought the other one in, but he noticed something on a sibling too), stayed after hours and squeezed us in, his office dealt with insurance problems, etc. Couldnt be thankful enough!. I also, like that they have good answering service after hours and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes after we arrived for the appt.

I have 2 boys and one is a pre-teen. So finding a doctor that both my boys would feel comfortable is not an easy thing to do. I obviously researched doctors before I choose one and Dr. Hogen stood out. He was friendly and made my boys feel comfortable even at a physical. His staff was amazing and explained all that was happening. Doctor Hogen was very gentle and you just felt a since of trust. The office was clean and easy to find. I hope to have Doctor Hogen as my boys pediatric for long while. Thank you Dr. Hogen & Staff.
