Hillcrest Community Acupuncture's Online Review Report Card

WOW! The last time I visited HCA was back in 2013. My friend brought me here recently for some Acupuncture while she was visiting from Germany (she is a huge fan of Oscar & Sita). I came in with a lot of shoulder pain from a year old yoga injury. Oscar not only made me feel safe & at ease, but informed me of what was going on with the unique pains I was feeling (both muscular and nerve). My session started with a warm welcome, payment up front (plus a sliding scale for those that need it!) and then moved quietly into the Acupuncture room. I was able to pick a nice private corner with a comfortable recliner. Oscar met me at the chair for a check-in on what was ailing me, and then mindfully began adding the acupuncture needles. Oscar was very thorough and made sure he understood when my pain levels decreased noticeably after the very thin needles went in. I gently fell into a warm and wonderfully relaxing interlude. No pain, no distress, just relaxation with the most perfect background music that only added to the Experience (not too loud, not too quiet, just perfect). I came back next week to see Oscar for another treatment of my now-healing-shoulder injury, and learned some more pointers on how to support my shoulder's healing. My hot yin yoga class last night was the perfect gauge to see how my shoulder would hold up, and with gentle awareness, I have even LESS pain than I did when I saw Oscar the first time! Today, my pain is decreasing even more and I am soooo aware of how Oscar's mindful treatment and right-on information has helped me feel better in 2 weeks than I have with over a year of rest alone. Thank you Oscar & HCA! I can't wait for my next visit!

Cita and Oscar are true healers. The space is so beautiful, clean, and tranquil. And their knowledge on healing through acupuncture is absolutely incredible, I am so grateful to know them.

Every time I go to HCA I feel super taken care of. It's the comfiest environment, soothing sound, lighting, beds, kind staff; and every acupuncturist I've seen has been able to offer me miraculous relief in the moment, as well as work with me for ongoing growth and healing. One of my absolute favorite places to go. An acupuncture appointment means rest, a little hour snoozle nap and addressing whatever concern (poor digestion, wonky cycle, overall stress, even feeling “off” after a winter funk, anything at all really), and then simply feeling wonderful and chill afterwards. I honestly wish more people pursued acupuncture as part of their overall health- I always tell people about the community acupuncture model as it lowers the financial barrier to getting treatment AND there’s basically no negative side affects. At all. $40-$50 and you feel great? Dim lights, relaxing sounds and a licensed caring professional to listen and address my personal health interests?? Western medicine could never ;) Love me some balance- physically, mentally and emotionally 🤍

I love this place! Sita and Oscar are awesome and I have been coming here for years. They have an amazing staff as well and anyone you see is so kind. The sliding scale for payment helps make acupuncture affordable. Tell your friends, you won’t be disappointed after an awesome treatment.

Hillcrest acupuncture is a very welcoming, supportive and competent care center. They use a sliding scale to accommodate people's income levels too which is unique and pretty cool!

This Accupuncture Center is wonderful! All the accupuncturist are professional, caring and true experts in the field. I've been to many places and by far I've received the best care especially from Oscar Talmantes, who has a special gift. Anyone considering starting an accupuncture treatment should do so at Hillcrest Community Center.

Sita has helped me a lot with my chronic complaints, and I now feel more balanced and resilient. Not only that, but she is someone who you can come to for advice and wisdom. She is gifted on many levels.

Have been going to HCA since moving to SD over 3 years ago - met Sita for the first time and I was sold! The staff is awesome and environment is always clean and organized. Sita is always open to feedback and great at connecting with her patients. I will continue to be a loyal patient :)
