Dr. Tyner and the team of Scripps Doctors and Assistants are outstanding medical professionals. I have recommended Dr Tyner many times to work associates and other friends. I’m amazed and blessed to have Dr Tyner as my CardioThoracic Surgeon as well as for all his care and counsel to me in the weeks prior to the surgery as well as followup care, advice, and encouragement over the past 8 years since my surgery, Dr Tyner is also a super nice guy! Very personal and wonderful demeanor too!

Besides being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Tyner, provides clear and detailed information in a way that’s easy to understand . He’s very personable, easy to talk to, a good listener, pleasant, and very patient. Since my open-heart surgery 3 months ago, I feel better than I have in many years. I have highly recommend him to friends and family.

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to him and his excellent surgical staff for literally saving my life early on the morning of Tuesday, August 30. I experienced an extremely rare case of esophagus rupture. He obviously knew just what to do and how to do it. My family and I feel very lucky that he was there in my time of need. They all have expressed their appreciation for his skill, competence and dedication to the art of healing. I am now nearly back to normal. I am hiking up to five miles or more. I was only able to survive this trauma because of Dr. Tyner's ability to render the medical procedures that were required to save my life.

On March 4 2020 I had an upper left lung lobectomy performed by Dr. Tyner and staff. They made me feel very comfortable before and after surgery with exceptional detail. Dr. Tyner has the best bedside manner and team of nurses. It has been 2 years since my surgery, cancer free. Thank you Dr. Tyner and everyone involved.

When I was seeking a heart surgeon I found Dr. Tyner. I’m so thankful I went with my instinct and had my aortic valve replaced by him. Dr. Tyner is an excellent person and a gifted heart surgeon, I felt very confident and calm through my pre and post operation. I am very thankful for the nurses and amazing care I received at Scripps Hospital. Forever thankful to Dr. Tyner and his team for giving me another chance to live. Aloha, Gary

Dr Tyner saved my mother's life, hands down. She is a medical miracle, and is literally the first patient to survive a condition so advanced. He was also calming in an extremely harrowing ordeal, providing a level of peace after our family had been startled by another doctor who had no bedside manner. Every day I am grateful this man, whose work under extreme pressure, combined with a gentle, appropriate demeanor, is heroic. Because of him, I have my mom, and so does the world.

Dr. Tyner performed my husband's aortic valve replacement surgery and I was so thankful for such a caring Dr. that put us at ease during such a scary time for us.

My husband had his aortic valve replaced twice now by Dr Tyner. We were so pleased with his professionalism and willingness to accomodate us in a time of need. My husband had the choice to chose any docotor or hospital and after his first surgery with Dr Tyner and he would not go anywhere else.
