At MHC, the staff is kind, professional, and committed to helping people heal, which is super life-changing. The environment feels safe, supportive, and focused on real progress. I want to give a special shoutout to Camille :D She goes above and beyond to stay connected, build community, and make sure everyone feels seen and supported. Her kindness and consistency make a lasting difference. If you're looking for a place that offers genuine care and long-term support, this is the one!
camille and stacy saved my life for real. amazing facility and staff are so incredible.
The alumni program was perfect. I had learned so much about myself and the people around me. The environment is welcoming and makes me feel like I belong. Thank you for hosting the events (Volleyball) it has helped me in my personal journey.
Camille throws the best events. She is the kindest person ive met here in san diego. I love her events and how she runs them. She is the best and helps everyone that walks into the building with welcoming arms. This place is a safe space for everyone. I am grateful for Camille and her services she offers to her alumni and community members.
hands down the best treatment center i've been to. i was able to find myself here, and im finally starting to believe i have a life worth living. now of course i know i'll still have bad days, but i learned great coping skills that will help me when things get hard. many staff have lived experience, which help them to be more empathetic. this company is also very queer/ trans friendly, and some staff are even part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. i appreciate the structure of the program as well. also not only are we being taught how to cope, we're being taught life skills such cooking, cleaning, and some staff can even help with resume building and budgeting sort of things. after graduating from the program, there are many alumni events that happen, so you're not just expected to be on your own with no more support. these alumni events include: support groups, karaoke / open mic nights, volleyball days, and more! i genuinely hope that if you or a loved one is struggling, get in touch with mental health center of san diego. intake staff are wonderful with working out a plan for where to go. they listen to your needs and figure out a plan best suited for you. finally, to anyone reading this, take the step and come get help at mhc, you will be welcomed and acknowledged for taking the right steps towards helping your mental health. you are not alone, and we stand together!
Amazing staff but bitter and mean administration. I was at a wonderful facility elsewhere when my benefits changed and I was sent to this place where people that actually met me were kind. One day, there was a rumbling of a room change but no one had actually said anything to me yet and I am tossed the cell phone and it's a program administrator yelling, literally, yelling at me bout "why I have a problem with it". It was all so jarring. So, because that happened on day 6 and pissed me off enough for another man to speak to me that way---I left AMA. Ya wanna know what this facility won't do? Help me continue my claim for disability because "I was supposed to do it while I was there". Take a chance if you want, the staff are worth it but what it's also saying is that those 6 days weren't worth anything because according to them no treatment happened and I wasn't seen as trying to get the help I needed.
I was referred here by doctor for testing, RYAN answered the phone and told me they dont do testing only treatment, they only refer people out for testing. I asked if they are able to give me the names of some of the companies they refer people out to for testing. He YELLED at me no, they’re busy, and he doesn’t have to do that, and if I want the names of the clinics that do testing I have to sign up for their treatment. I asked to speak to someone else and he hung up in my face. I called back and again asked to speak to someone else, he tried to sell me the treatment program again. I said I didnt want to continue speaking with him and please put me in touch with another representative or supervisor. He refused, claimed he was the supervisor and claimed to be the only employee. He yelled at me to take a hike. Not only wil i be letting my drs office know to stop referring people here for anything at all, i will be reporting him to every state board there is. His demeanor was disgusting, disrespectful and unhelpful. No one who acts as he does should be allowed to work in mental health; ryan lacks basic common decency.
I am so thankful for MHC and the time I was able to spend there! I spent multiple months there and throughout my time I grew so much and made connections with people who GET IT too. There is no shame there!! The staff there very clearly care about the clients and have their best interest at heart. As a client, that meant more to me than they might ever know. Because of the help of MHC, I am now back to functioning in my daily life and even working in mental health treatment myself to try to provide others who are struggling with similar care that I received during a very dark time of my life (I would NOT be here without the help of MHC). I still keep in touch with MHC and visit as often as I can, they always welcome me with open arms and check in on me on a weekly basis. This means a lot to me and this program will always hold a special place in my heart.
This center saved my life. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt safe, supported, and at home. My therapist Miguel was exceptional. He provided me with the insight, tools, and the clarity to understand the direction and purpose with which I needed to live my life. All of the staff members are outstanding at their jobs. Everything from leading group therapy sessions, to being available at all times to support you in whatever capacity you need, they always went above and beyond their job descriptions. My psychiatrist Joe did an excellent job at managing my medication, and always made me feel seen and heard. I cannot speak more highly of this facility. Before I arrived, I was just trying to survive, and when I left, I was ready to thrive! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each and every one of the employees and clients for having a part in my treatment and recovery. I will forever be grateful.
MHC is a great place that is truly life changing. The staff is amazing, and they go above and beyond for you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
