Not being laughed at by the staff while waiting for my Oncologist. Not being stalked by people from where I live and slandered while I am there and tormented by untrue gossip. I would rather get my treatment at a more professional facility.

If i could pick a different place for my cancer treatment i would. Surviving cancer was difficult but it was far harder surviving the UCSD system. It is absolutely awful. Please do not go here. It is really terrible. I have numerous experiences that have been deeply unsettling. 1) my oncologist recommended outdated treatments until i had to switch oncologists due to my genetic results, 2) my plastic surgeon said i needed a double mastectomy and that women "should be fine going flat". all i needed was a lumpectomy 3) plastic surgeon showed me after pictures of women with their faces and names shown 4) my infusion appointments are constantly moved without my consent or knowledge. Please do not go here. Cancer is really bad, but UCSD is worse.

Who wants to go for outpatient cancer care? Certainly nobody (although it does beat in-hospital cancer care), but Moore's Cancer Center makes it comfortable while you're there. Plenty of parking in adjacent garages. Nice lobby with helpful clerks. Wind your way around to the infusion center, where you're set up in a rather comfy chaise chair, complete with warmed blanket. Water and snacks are offered and available. Here a little longer than anticipated for your morning appointment? Lunch will be brought to you in a little tote: a sandwich, a piece of fruit and a drink. How nice. Nurses were capable and attentive. During the time we were there, I felt as if we were well taken care of and the visit went smoothly.

The palliative care team provides excellent support during active cancer treatment, and I am very grateful for the care received. However, once patients transition into survivorship, there seems to be a gap in services. Survivors are often left without the same level of guidance, follow-up, or support that was available during treatment. I believe this represents an opportunity for Moores to strengthen its mission. A dedicated survivorship program would not only honor the intent of the many donors who support UCSD but also ensure that patients continue to receive comprehensive care throughout the full cancer journey.

Very happy to finish my last of 28 sessions of radiation therapy for my prostate cancer today. Can't say enough about the radiation oncology at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. Stellar care from my radiation oncologist Dr. Arno Mundt and resident Dr. Anna Dornisch. All others involved including nurses, admin staff and technicians were the best.

Chemo was okay, had to discontinue it early due to lab results. External Radiation was good, but internal radiation was very painful the first time. Afterwards, I was sedated for the remaining treatments.
