He's all you want in a doctor, especially when dealing with something so difficult. He had great bedside manner and he's sooooo knowledgeable, so smart. Takes the time to explain everything and is so caring. I am so glad I found him. You are in the best hands if you ever happen to be in his care.

Dr. Chen is always informative and listens to any questions you may have. Spends time explaining things thoroughly and putting you at ease. Office runs in a timely manner. Excellent surgeon. Highly recommend.

Dr. Chen is absolutely wonderful. Although front office needs much improvement and calling in for appointments or reaching a live person is a VERY lengthy wait, the Dr. Was great. I would give 5 star for Dr but front office barely deserves 2

Dr Chen is an amazing doctor with a broad knowledge of treating breast and lymph node cancer. He spends the time that you need to digest his information. I would recommend him to anyone that seeks a well versed and top surgeon.

Dr. Stephen Chen performed a sentinel node biopsy on a melanoma located on my abdomen. The operation was three weeks ago at the Scripps hospital facility. The surgical outcome was as expected and I am healing very well with no sign of infection. Throughout the entire process from initial consultation through post operative follow-up Dr. Chen and his staff were excellent. All communications were detailed and specific, office visit wait times were less than 5 minutes and his staff provided help with my insurance. I'd strongly recommend Dr. Chen for this or similar procedures.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chen's since December of 2012. I met him at City of Hope when he became my breast cancer surgeon. To date Dr. Chen has performed two of my surgeries. I've been grateful for him as he is accessible and listens and treats me like a person not a body part. He is kind and compassionate. I would recommend Dr. Chen to my family and friends as he has earned my trust and respect through many years of treatments and follow ups.
