List of Vijayalakshmi Pratha's Reviews
I wasted my time & money being gaslit by her. I have Lyme disease, blood work confirming my infections & went to her seeking options to help support my gi. She basically told me this is an energetic thing I’m going through, that do I really believe one little tick bite & bacteria can cause all of this & that ultimately my issue is that I’m not addressing my emotions? There is definitely an emotional ...
Absolutely horrible experience. She accused my chronic pain as "just anxiety", and ultimately did nothing for me. I never thought I would hear a female physician dismiss pain like that. 0/10 do not recommend.
Dr Pratha is the best Dr Pratha. If Dr Pratha makes a mistake, you roll with it.This is what you need to know...When Dr Pratha puts you thru a battery of blood tests to run a complex computer model that results in a prescription of herbal tinctures that don't do anything... roll with it.When she makes you wait an hour and a half before seeing you... roll with it.When you notice she has conspicuous pharmaceutical ads in her exam room, despite representing herself as "integrative" and "Ayurvedic"... roll with it.When she opens your appointment talking about spirituality... roll with it.When she says emotions are the root of all disease... roll with it.When she says you need to feel the pain of your childhood traumas... roll with it.When she blindsides you by psycho-analyzing the interactions on social media that you didn't know she had seen... roll with it.When she uses a skeptical tone to low key judge the t-shirt you're wearing... roll with it.When she says there are no studies that say collagen is good for your joints and skin... roll with it.When she suggests you go vegetarian, and you suspect it's partly because of a cultural bias not based on medicine... roll with it.When she rejects the documented series of blood test results you hand her and says she doesn't believe you have the condition that you demonstrably have based on your blood work... roll with it.Why do you roll with it?Because when she finally gets to the visceral manipulation... (the poking and prodding of your organs that all the sissies here are complaining about)... That sh!t works!Granted you can watch a few videos online and figure out how to do it yourself... but totes have her do it once so you know what you're aiming for.Get your blood work done too -- and don't ignore being on the low end of "normal" with things like potassium -- or on the high end of normal with things like iron. Fixing that stuff is what finally cured me. Much appreciation to Dr P for gaslighting me about it -- motivated me to learn more and fix it myself! Turns out negative emotions ARE the root of all disease... and chronic potassium deficiency is the root of all negative emotions. (Who knew!?)Good luck!
Excellent GI doc. Dr. Pratha cares about her patients. She is always present, clear and helpful in her guidance. I highly recommend Dr. Pratha, we need more doctors like her(Great staff at her office too)!
I believe in and practice holistic care and alternative medicine. I was extremely optimistic going into this. She said I had childhood trauma causing my stomach issues after speaking with me less than 10 minutes. Also mentioned that my wife was somehow the cause as well and may not be good for me. I didn't mention anything negative about my wife. Got an endoscopy 2 weeks later with a different doctor, I had stomach ulcers. I see it as dangerous to tell people rounded statements that will apply to anyone.
She's a scam. Dismissed my awful constipation and abdominal pain symptoms as being "in my head" and refused to dig deeper. Requested a prescription and two diagnostic tests over 3 months ago and they were never ordered despite trying to follow up a few times a week. In office visits were very unproductive- she would pound on my body to the point where it left bruises trying to "awaken the energy" in it and told me masturbating might help my symptoms. Giant waste of time and money.
I had the best experience with Dr. Pratha, after looking for help for awhile! Really like her integrative medicine approach, where she is practicing both conventional and alternative ways, to find what is not working and to cure it. It worked wonders for me. She is a great listener and rather thoughtful and observant.
I am all about integrative medicine with holistic being first. Dr. Pratha is intuitive and very knowledgeable about gut health which is the largest part of the immune system. Being a kidney transplant patient, I have many challenges because of the anti rejection meds I have to take which raises havoc on my upper GI health. I am confident that Dr. Pratha will keep helping me to keep on top of it especially with herbal medicine. She is kind with a wonderful bedside manner and listens. I have referred my voice students to her who have gut problems or acid reflux. She is a really good doctor!
Usually wait at least 45min past your appointment time. Extremely hard to get a hold of, usually have to call 10 or 15 times b4 phone is answered.
Caring, knowledgeable, kind , highly recommend 👌

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
