List of William Buchner's Reviews
It’s the strangest thing. I had been a patient of Dr. Buchner since I moved back to SD a couple of years ago. He’d been a decent doctor, even if a bit aloof. But, two months ago I got a letter from Perlman Clinic telling me I had been assigned a new Primary doc and that Dr. Buchner left the practice and the state. No additional information was given and I haven’t asked. I don't know what happened. I just found it to be a strange way to treat a patient with ongoing/chronic medical issues. I’ve had a lot of doctors these past 20+ years, some who retired with illnesses worse than mine, and some who left for other reasons, but no treating physician has ever just ghosted me before. I feel like I should be offended or something, but what the hell, bring on the next doc and let’s try this again.
Dr. Buchner left San Diego and we are SO bummed! Dr. Buchner, I wasn't sure how to reach you so I guess this will have to do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care and attention you gave Patrick. Thank you for accepting us as patients, for taking the time to learn new research, for the ways in which you treated us as partners in our health, laying out many options to choose from for treating ...
Has helped me greatly with getting my health on the right track. Highly recommend!
Been my personal physician for over five years. He is the best. Brilliant, creative and fun to work with. Also has a very integrative style and presence that considers holistic health.
Firstly, Perlman Clinic, as an organization (which feels like an ironic thing to call it,) has demonstrated repeatedly that it has no idea how to keep track of its doctors or its own internal policy or external elements of bureaucracy and legality. But I've genuinely in my entire life never had a doctor treat me as poorly as Dr. Buchner did. He chastised and antagonized and gaslighted me for thirty minutes about my jumping from doctor to doctor as though I A: ever wanted to be shuffled around to different doctors or B: knowingly and intentionally committed some form of fraud. When I asked him to specify what nefarious act he was accusing me of committing (other than being shuffled around endlessly at the mercy of Perlman Clinic and the medical system at large and failing to recall every single mistake that's ever taken place over a five-year timespan or the specific contents of a document that I was forced to sign years ago in order to receive my ADD medication,) he not only was unable to provide me with an answer, but he deflected and insisted that it was for my medical benefit that he was relentlessly attacking me to the point of tears. I felt like I was in a Kafka novel. He had no interest in understanding my responses to his circular questions (as evidenced by the fact that he asked the same ones in repeated succession every time he was dissatisfied with my answers, as though to intentionally disorient me and cause me to forget that I'd already answered that question, evidently in a way that he deemed unsatisfactory.) He had clearly already made up his mind as to the nature of my motives (which, again, he repeatedly failed to explain to me) before I walked into his office. He patronized me like some authority figure, confidently proclaiming, "You're just upset because I'm finally the one to bring down the hammer on you," as though I've devised some malicious or self-interested plot to manipulate the system (the nature of which, I will reiterate yet again, he never once specified to me.) He just kept citing the fact that he had his secretary attempt to call me (minutes before my appointment) to cancel as evidence of some profound misdoing on my part (which, as far as I'm concerned, is 100% a profound misdoing on the part of Perlman Clinic. If scheduling an appointment with him wasn't allowed, then the revolving door of receptionists I talk to on the phone and at the desk should have known that (Because why the hell would I know that?) and shouldn't have scheduled my appointment with him.) He even deflected my points by bringing his secretary into the office as some form of evidence to proclaim that she did, in fact, try to call me, as though I had ever contested that point. There was no limit to the fantastical nature of his suspicions. At one point, he scolded and antagonized me for forgetting to see an X-ray specialist a year ago, as though to prove, "Ah-hah! See?! I've CAUGHT you!" He was belligerently obtuse, and frankly, he was just a bully. I don't know how he's managed to convince himself that he cares for people. Nothing about the way he spoke to me was helpful or respectful or rational.
Puts policy over patients.
Complete bully. Doesn't understand how to treat people.
During an office visit with Dr. Buchner he shared these beliefs about covid: Natural immunity is seven times more effective than vaccine immunity. When patients have tested positive for covid he has removed the the flag in their chart to get vaccinated, the CDC is pressured by big pharma to push vaccinations. He also shared he has not been vaccinated since he caught covid and has natural immunity. This visit took place in Feb 2022 in which CA had an indoor mask mandate and Dr. Buchner removed his mask and instructed me to remove my mask.
Dr. Buchner had helped with multiple chronic health issues that other medical professionals have ignored for years. I appreciate his holistic approach for a natural, healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Buchner is my favorite doctor ever. Caring, knowlegable, brilliant. He will be your favorite doctor also. God Bless

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
