List of Yasuko Kidokoro's Reviews
Bad customer service. Admin office lady looks you down.
Terrible. I needed some tests done at an imaging center (and then follow ups), most appointments had to be canceled and rescheduled because the doctors orders or insurance approval wasn’t submitted. Jen, who answers the phone, was extremely rude to me over the phone. I called several times to find out test results and was NEVER gotten back to. Worst healthcare I’ve ever received.
Terrible doctor and staff. Multiple canceled appointments for testing because paperwork wasn’t submitted. I’ve never been contacted about results (of multiple tests) even after calling. Save yourself the trauma and find a different doctor.
My review is amazingly similar to the person's review left here before mine. Dr. Kidokoro is not the PCP I want on my insurance card. She pretty much did me the same way years ago, when I went to see her. Before ANY tests were done, or grabbing the health chart to know which patient she was talking to, she just jumped to conclusions and then had me go over to have X-rays done in La Jolla. The tests ...
No. Just no. Unless you want to go to a doctor who guesses your diagnosis BEFORE actual testing/results...do not go to her. Period. She stopped seeing me, when a test result came back opposite her assumptions. And to think that I had to listen to her preach to me and argue about my reason for visiting her practice that day, makes me a little bitter. She was being prejudicial towards her patient and ...
I had started going to Dr. Kidokoro in 2016, I believe. I am going to start off saying that my experience is my own and I have no personal agendas against the doctor. I just did not appreciate my experience and felt is fell below professional for medical practitioners. Also, I believe the building where her practice is located is in the process of being sold, or so it seems. After having seen the doctor for a regular check-up...and after she was able to obtain blood, urin, fecal tests, etc. for her practice's records; I found myself utilizing her services once more to have her examine an uncomfortable pain in my side after a strenuous hiking trip, where steep climbs were involved. I thought I might have pulled something. Too make a long visit short, she made assumptions about the pain, although she had ordered x-rays be done on the same day at another location in La Jolla. Things got uncomfortable with her, because she jumped to the topic of body weight and even preached to me about athletes who have come to her, who happen to be of a "strong build" with muscle pains/strains and how she has tried to convince them that they are OBESE. Think what you must, but I did not see what that had to do with me. I sat and stared in that crammed-up room as she went on, trying to grab my chart and plug in numbers to her BMI paper measure. I reminded her of records last indicated that I am healthy. No diabetes, no high cholesterol, high blood pressure...nothing that is outside the norm. It's practically a Praise-Bejeezus report (I am now 40).*sigh* I mean, all this time, she's creating scenarios that are not real, or not yet proven a reality. Whatever happened to wait until results are in until you come to conclusions about an issue. You might just not have to stick that foot in your mouth, if you remain neutral and professional. More credible, rather. Anyway, she comes to a realization of "Well, if you are not complaining of knee pain, then I suppose everything is fine. Do you have any questions?" "No." So, after she has a referral sent to La Jolla Imaging, she continuously asked if I had any questions for her. She said that she would have the office call and make an appointment with me to discuss the x-rays. I get the x-rays done. Funnily, during the process, the technician stated that her usual hip-injury patients have a lot pain standing in a certain position I had to pose in. I laughed and explained that I did not have a hip injury, conclusively. What news did the Dr. spread, then? Meanwhile, I go to a Chiropractor and soaked in epsom salt baths and the pain subsides. Also, the test results are in and they came back as "negative." Afterwards, I never got another call from her practice to discuss the x-ray results, or for any other matter till this here day. I don't like it when doctors jump to conclusions before getting test results. I am not a statistic and am not as daft as you'd like to think. If you need a swab, a sample, an x-ray, a result....then just effing wait before pulling the trigger, please. Aye, but this all suits me well, this ending. I suppose, it does not pain me to have lost contact with the doctor.
I found Dr. Kidokoro through my insurance and I don't easily trust new doctors but I must say that I am very comfortable in this office. Everyone is attentive and kind and best part of it all is that I can take care of multiple things at once. I can have my annual papsmear done, bloodwork, and your general check up all in one office. I don't know why Dr. Kidokoro has a low score when to me she knows a lot and explains everything to me. My husband and I are very fortunate to have found her.
I have been a patient with Dr. Kidokoro for over three years and she has been a wonderful doctor. She is an excellent and kind doctor. I highly recommend her to anyone who seeks a brilliant doctor. It is evident to me that she genuinely cares about people. She has always taken great care of me. She clearly has a vast amount of knowledge and experience. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor.
Very flexible doctor and will listen to you and your opinions.
Beware! This doctor is a menace to the community! I just had by far the strangest and most unsettling doctor's visit of all my 37 years. Firstly, I should include the fact that I visited two days ago at 9am and sat in the treatment room for almost an hour, only to be told that the doctor was unreachable and though she had been expected back that day from an emergency travel leave, 'she must not actually be back yet'. My vitals had already been taken and blood drawn, and I was told I'd be contacted when she returned to complete my physical. Segue to today. I woke up with a fever and sore/swollen lymph nodes, and what appeared to be the telltale white spots on my tonsils indicating Strep throat. I called and they were able to squeeze me in first thing. (Good to know she was back in the office!) And here's where it goes from what had been a mere communication/front desk faux pas to one of blatant medical incompetence: THE DOCTOR DID NOT WASH HER HANDS AT ANY POINT BEFORE/DURING/AFTER THE VISIT, NOR DID SHE PUT ON A SINGLE PAIR OF GLOVES. WITH A POTENTIAL STREP PATIENT!!! She left the room and came back 3 times to get various medical devices, touching the doorknob, chair, light, clipboard, and laptop (all of which were not covered). She did not take my temperature, and simply relied on my reports from my home thermometer for this important reading. She attempted to execute an in-office Strep A culture, stumbling through reading the instructions on a card in the box and even asking me at one point to check out the dipstick thingy for confirmation that there were not 2 lines. She eventually gave up on getting the diagnosis this way and took another culture that would be getting sent to a lab for results to return in 2-3 business days (it's Wednesday and they may not be available until Monday). She then went ahead and authorized a prescription of Penicillin for me, and advised that I should begin taking it right away, and if the results came back negative I should stop taking it. What the hell? I'm no medical professional, but I know the risks in taking antibiotics when you don't have a bacterial infection, and in only taking a portion of their recommended course. Once we'd wrapped up, she walked right over to the front desk WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. I begrudgingly paid my $30 copay, resisted the urge to whisper to the front desk girl that she should be very careful with touching anything that had been in the doctor's hands for fear of exposure to Strep, and walked out completely baffled and frustrated at having endured such an unsuccessful expenditure of energy in my present ill and feverish state. I immediately called my insurance provider to get the address for Urgent Care, and have an appointment later. And this time I confirmed that they do Strep cultures that provide results instantly!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
