List of Justin A. Shuffer's Reviews
Yesterday, Sunday, my son had an accident playing baseball and damaged his front teeth badly. Dr.Shuffer came all the way to treat him and give him and myself peace of mind. He placed the measures neccesary to hold the teeth in place. What really stood out, is the fact that it was Sunday, and he dropped everything to treat Pablo. He showed compassion, patience and profesionalism to the 11th degree! I fyou have a little child this is the place to go. I highly recomend Dr.Shuffer for all your children dental needs. Don't hesitate, they wiil be in excellent hands!
Dr. Shuffler has been amazing. The kids and I both had a horrible time elsewhere and then put off going to see a dentist. He never made me feel judged and took take of my kids. My oldest has autism and love these people. So that's is saying a lot.
Wow! We love Dr. Shuffer and I couldn't think I could love him anymore but it is possible. My son has Autism and with it aggression toward himself and others. Dr. Shuffer and his staff have been amazing with him from day one. Never pressuring him or me and taking their time to earn his trust, we did several desensitization visits just so my son would tolerate sitting on the exam chair and seeing some of the dental tools. Today, magic happened! X-rays, cleaning, complete exam DONE! (my son is 9 and it was a first for him) I was touched and wanted to cry because I didn't think it would ever happen without putting him completely out yet Dr. Shuffer would always tell me "give him time, it will happen" and it did! THANK YOU for always caring the way you do for my boy and most importantly believing he could do it, this is one happy mommy.
I love Dr. Shuffer and his staff. I have the kid that is terrified of the dentist. The one that screams and makes a scene every time we go. Dr. Shuffer and his staff are so patient with my son. They always take the time to listen and help my son work through his terrible anxiety. I would give more stars if I could. I would recommend this dentist to everybody, but especially those with kids who are scared of the dentist. In addition. To the wonderful dentist and staff. The office is super clean and very inviting for kiddos. We have been with Dr. Shuffer for several years now.
Not only did I get an attitude from the girl in the front office, but Dr. Shuffer also has a horrible attitude and demonstrated to me today that he cares nothing about patients. I tried to take my son for a simple cleaning (after a referral to his office). My child's regular dentist is an 80 mile round trip from my home, which is too far for a cleaning. Dr. Shuffer's ego is so huge that he refused to do the cleaning unless I agreed to permit him to treat my child. The office insisted on getting X-rays (an out-of-pocket cost for me) after the cleaning for future treatment. I explained (AGAIN) that I only wanted a cleaning. He proceeded to senselessly argue that I should have my son's surgeon do the cleaning. Despite my repeatedly explaining that the surgeon does not do cleanings (which a DDS should know) and repeatedly telling him I did not want to argue, and even offering to leave if the service could not be performed, he continued with the ridiculous argument that I should go to a surgeon's office for a cleaning.... Realizing his ego was wounded and he was incapable of stopping his non-sense, I finally had to end the senselessness by just walking out of the office. There are too many good business out there to return to this one....
Unprofessional staff. Justin mis-diagnosed my child and said "it'll solve itself when it falls out" for a molar (which would be in 7-8 years). Our next dentist showed us it was indeed a cavity (and found another one). He's too lax and it shows in the way the office runs. Office looks fun for kids, but is bad for us as parents.
TLDR; He misdiagnosed our kid, ignored the problem, and the staff did a horrible job addressing usJustin is too relaxed about his practice, which shows in his dental care and the way his office runs. He misdiagnosed our little child and we had a second dentist verify that. The office staff was in the dark about it (he didn't even write down the wrong diagnosis in the file, nonetheless the actual problem), which doesn't feel comforting that the office manager putting out fires doesn't even have the proper information to do so. The only good thing we can say is that the office is fun for children, but don't let that fool you. Our child was in a special situation (that required more attention to her teeth else they fall out really early), so the lack of attention to that situation would have led to future complications.
Horribly unprofessional and rude. Didn't seem to care that my son was in extreme pain. Refused to help us when i called him out for being rude ... it was a blessing we walked out of there. There are better, more professional, caring pediatric dentists out there.
Dr. Shuffer is the best! He is very patient.
I took my daughter to see Dr. Scuffer after rave reviews. My daughter had discoloration on her teeth. He told me the discoloration was an airborne bacteria found in people born in Central America, central Mexico, and Southeast Asia. And that myOnly option was to ignore, put caps or to extract. My daughter was 2 years old. He did no X-rays. He did a very very minimal exam. And cameTo this conclusion. I since have have several second and third opinions. No one has ever heard of this bullshit he tried to sell me. The discoloration on my daughters teeth is from iron deposits. Not some insane weird third world country bacteria. We know this because her new dentist did X-rays, full exams, full cleanings and she looked at me like I was insane when I told Her what Dr Schuffer told us. I know he has rave reviews, maybe he just didn't like us, but I will never go back, and I will constantly tell everyone of our experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
