Aaron Yu Acupuncture Clinic's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Aaron Yu had been recommended to me by two people. I was very much impressed by the treatment that I have received today by him. I have joint issues, arthritis, stiffness and pain. He spent a lot of time with me, Doing acupuncture, Doing physical manipulation of joints, Doing cupping. He did something to my very stiff fingers, and now, for the first time in at least 15 years, I can really make a fist again on my right hand! Just amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing him again the week after Thanksgiving to continue working on my hips and knee joints particularly, and to continue working on my fingers and hands also. I highly recommend Dr. Aaron Yu Acupuncture !

I’ve been to Aaron Yu for acupuncture multiple times for lower back pain (L5/S1). I always leave his appointments feeling significantly less pain immediately afterward. He is very kind, professional, and he takes his time.

I found Dr. Yu from a google search - he was nearby my apartment, and although there aren't too many reviews or a website, I noticed all of the written reviews were very thorough and touched on his exceptional healing abilities, so I gave him a call. I had never tried acupuncture before, and I had reached the point of desperation for various issues I was having I've had stomach/digestive issues for many years, and the GI doctors provided no relief, and I also had lower back pain that was slowly worsening. So I gave TCM a try. Dr. Yu has an incredible understanding of the body and how all of the parts work together, and I've learned so much about how different muscles can affect digestion and back pain. I learned about tension in areas of my body causing my issues which I would have never guessed were the root cause. I'm not aware of typical acupucturist's rates in the Bay Area, but I feel that his services are affordable, especially for the miracle work he does!!!! Thank you Dr. Yu!! 😄

I just experienced one of the most effective and affordable combined massage and acupuncture sessions of my life from the most experienced English and Mandarin speaking practitioner of Chinese descent that I could find in the Bay Area. Aaron generously spent two hours healing my lost range of motion during my first-time one-hour appointment. His follow-up 1-hour massage plus acupuncture appointments are even more affordable than some private community acupuncture sessions, especially given he's been practicing since at least 2004. I went in with about several issues. I appreciate that he focused on my top issue. And now I can move that part of my body 95% like I used to. Aaron's tui na massage techniques were unlike any tui na or other massage I experienced. And I've tried acupressure, Breema, chi nei tsang, chiropractic, craniosacral, deep tissue, Franklin Method, lomi lomi, lymphatic, Muscle Energy Technique (MET), myofascial, neuro-muscular reprogramming, neuromuscular therapy (NMT), osteopathy, Rolfing, shiatsu, Structural Integration, Swedish, Thai, and visceral manipulation. When I mentioned that to him, he said he trained with a tui na massage practitioner from Taiwan who specializes in understanding if an issue is a structural, gait, or postural issue. During my session, I lay down and sat in different positions as he moved my joints as if I was swimming. And he massaged them gently at the same time. He also practices neigong through martial taichi in ways I never learned from my kungfu and sequence-based taichi classes, something I haven't found anyone of Chinese descent practicing in the Bay who's also a massage therapist and acupuncturist. And I looked everywhere! I also appreciate his knowledge of how to avoid qi sickness from qigong. He's a humble expert. He doesn't have a website. But he answers his phone. And he deals with health insurance.

Miraculous

He is fantastic and I am embarrassed it took me so long to write this review. I went to Aaron a few years ago because I was having pain in my shoulder and I mentioned I also had suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome for several years. He then used a Traditional Chinese Medicine medical massage to stretch my hip, leg and stomach muscles and IN ONE SESSION my IBS was gone after years of suffering from it. It was basically miraculous in my opinion. He helped me understand how the stress in your body is all connected to multiple different muscles and if you stretch out one area, you can heal another area. Bottom line Aaron helped me see the power of TCM and he radically improved my life. Thanks Aaron! Definitely one of the BEST acupuncturists and TCM doctors in the Bay Area!

I was just thinking about this guy recently. Years ago I traveled from Utah to see him. I had severe Interstitial Cystitis and was suffering horribly. Over a two day period Aaron performed acupuncture and taught me where to rub out my kinks. I layed in bed for a day recovering from the work over, I felt the pain leaving my body which was surreal. It’s years later and I’m still mostly pain free. Aaron changed the quality of my life. Thank you, Aaron, even though thank you is not enough! If anyone is experiencing pain and you’re tired of western antics— I swear by acupuncture and Aaron Yu.

Dr. Yu helped me when I was dealing with a number of health issues stemming from a lower lumbar disc herniation from weightlifting. His acupuncture treatment gave me significant relief from pain, improved my mobility, and made my life much easier. He genuinely cares for his patients and I couldn’t recommend him more, and feel very lucky to have met him.
