List of Alison F. Jacoby's Reviews
Dr. Jacoby blew me off for YEARS as I went to her in excruciating pain. My periods were 3 weeks long and I bled profusely. The most she ever did was order an ultrasound then tell me that my fibroids 'weren't that bad'. It took seeing an urgent care doctor at One Medical to get the MRI I needed. I had a horrible disease of the uterus and 19 large fibroid tumors. She was unapologetic and wanted to perform a hysterectomy. I found a vascular surgeon in Los Angeles who saved my uterus, eradicated the disease and removed all the fibroids with no pain. I have never suffered like that again. Do not see this doctor.
I'm less then a week out and I'm feeling great. The surgery went faster than planned and the pain is minimal after day 3. Still a little bloated and bruised but my abdomen is way less bulky then before. I will wait to see how things go in a month when I'm fully healed but very happy so far. Dr Jacoby is a genius and the top of her field. If you suffer from fibroids she can help you.
Dr Jacoby is very caring and attentive. She was great with my husbands procedure during his gender affirming process. We liked her so much that when I got fibroids I requested her for my surgery. She even remembered me and asked avout my husband by name. Not many doctors care that much.
Dr. Jacoby was always very personable and attentive during my appointments. She did a great job with my surgery and I highly recommend her. I did my research looking for a surgeon and am happy I chose to go with her. My previous doctor told me it wasn’t possible to do a laparoscopic procedure in my case but Dr. Jacoby had no problem with it. It can be a bit of a wait to get an initial visit but it is worth the time
Dr. Jacoby is amazing. She's so skilled, understanding and knowledgeable. She knows how to personalize her approach to your unique situation to give you the quickest recovery and make the overall surgery less daunting. I was terrified by the idea of having surgery and kept putting it off, eventually realizing that I wasn't doing myself any good and I'm so glad I finallygot it done. Overall, the whole UCSF staff was incredible, so helpful, attentive and as much as it sucked to have to have surgery they made me it very tolerable
Dr. Jacoby is a stellar surgeon. I have seen 2 surgeons before coming to her who said laprascopic surgery was not possible in my case. She did it! Great doctor, best bed side manners. I can't thank her enough.
There are not enough words to describe how incredible Dr. Jacoby is. I have had 2 (not 1) surgeries done by her, due to a long history of uterine fibroids at a young age. She is amazingly talented, extremely knowledgeable, caring, proficient in what she does and simply one of the very best in the world in her field of Uterine fibroids. Needless to say the entire UCSF team is top notch one of the best in the country. It takes meticulous communication and care coordination to get the quality results needed. Yes, I will admit it is a bit hard to get an appointment initially especially if you are a new patient (totally different subject as to how we can make our healthcare more efficient and accessible). I would urge to keep calling and be patient - she is definitely worth the wait. Recovery was extremely quick, with no post op issues at all. I could not be more thankful and grateful for the care I received. If i can give her more stars I would!
Dr. Jacoby was godsend. I saw 2 surgeons before coming to her. The first one told me that my only option was abdominal surgery. The second surgeon made me feel very uncomfortable by asking inappropriate questions. Dr. Jacoby was great at explaining my options, and has perfect bedside manners. She is ultra competent, down to earth, and compassionate. I had laparoscopic surgery which took 4 hours to remove a 2 lbs deformed uterus. I went home the same day and had no pain. Yes, it is hard to get an appointment at UCSF but it is well worth it. She is a genious, and we are lucky to have a surgeon of her caliber in the Bay Area.
What a wonderful doctor she is !! She’s not just a amazing doctor, she really cares about her patient !I would recommend her to anyone I know who are going through the same thing I went through.I can’t thank her enough... 😊
I regret her doing my surgery. I had pain months after surgery. She quickly examined me & said, "everything looks normal. Your cervix...I don't know why you're having pain. I am sorry." She dismissed herself & me. No test, no follow up. A few years later I am still having pain & bleeding. I gave her one star because I had to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
