Amazing acupuncturist! Could not recommend more highly for anyone dealing with muscle strain, back pain, and other afflictions of the computer-work era

Andreas is incredible. I came to him with a strained neck from a concussion accident. Andreas instantly knew what the pain was, the hot spots, and explained the injury. During our first session it was hard to move my head and I was in intense pain. Within 36 hours it was measurably better and the pain subsided into general soreness. Two days after our second session the pain was pretty much completely gone - it was incredible. I'm now fully healed. Besides being talented at his work, he is also incredibly kind.

Best dry needling I've ever had!! Saw someone describe it as scratching an itch you can't reach yourself - it's exactly that but with muscle pain. Couldn't recommend more!

I am a lifelong athlete and serious lifter and have gone through many different forms of pain relief extensively. Recently, I injured my back was struggling in my recovery. I was recommended to Dr. Schwerte by a friend and I got acupuncture done. He is a amazing at what he does in all ways. Everything is professional, he is always on time, he is very understanding of my situation. I am afraid of needles so acupuncture was a mental challenge for me but he was very caring and understanding with his approach. I will continue to get acupuncture going forward as part of my recovery.

I first visited Dr. Schwerte about 2 months ago at the recommendation of my chiropractor for treatment of a particularly stubborn bout of lower back pain. I've dealt with chronic back pain for the past ~20 years and this was my first experience with acupuncture. To be honest, I was skeptical...it's not that I didn't believe that acupuncture could help people, it's more that I didn't quite believe that acupuncture would help ME when nothing else I've tried has consistently helped. I was wrong. Within 4 treatments, I was virtually pain free. I still had/have problem areas that we're working on, but I went from skeptical to believing that a long-term pain-free existence could be in my future. My only regret is not finding Dr. Schwerte and trying acupuncture years ago. If you have chronic pain, I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Andreas is a true healer. He is compassionate, kind, patient, professional and incredibly knowledgable about both Eastern and Western medicine. In addition to acupuncture, he uses a wide variety of herbs to customize a blend for each individual person based on their needs at each session. I have seen Andreas for various reasons over the course of many years and he was able to help me every single time. He even helped my young children get through the years of preschool illnesses without needing antibiotics. I will always be very grateful for him!

Andreas's deep knowledge of Eastern medicine, as well as his kind, thoughtful listening, and inquisitive nature over the last six years has helped significantly improve my general well-being. He has come to my aide several times: balancing my hormones, a knee injury, bronchitis, hair loss, and the general ebbs and flow of a highly stressed work life. He asks the important (and sometimes) hard questions and always focuses on pinpointing the real issue; helping to speed my recovery. I truly don't know what I would do without his expertise over the years.

Dr. Schwerte's diligent treatments have saved me from two serious surgeries in the past 10+ years, latest being an unavoidable back surgery according to two UCSF professors and one of the top Neurosurgeons! (80% of my spine was blocked due to a herniation at S6/L1 and I was almost 100% immobilized, so visiting his office was an extremely painful experience ) The other one was about ten years when I developed a major hip trauma due to extreme sports.... Again, a few expert doctors found the only solution to be an intrusive hip surgery after having exhausted all sorts of therapies. The one therapy I did not give up and insisted on going back was Dr. Schwerte's, and it did pay off!!... So, better later than never, I am trying to give him the best review that I can so that he can help someone else like you to heal. I have also worked with other acupuncturists, and Dr. Schwerte's very direct and intense approach is par to none. Besides the two major injuries which required multiples visits per week for extended periods at a time, I really appreciate the occasional visits now, where a tweaked muscle, a stiff shoulder or a back spasm is resolved in one session. I am very grateful and can't recommend him enough!

I wish I had gone to see Andreas sooner. After years of having various issues, many of my symptoms either disappeared or were significantly reduced once having visits with him. Andreas not only combines Western and Eastern medicines, but spends quality time with you to fully understand what is happening in your body. He is a great listener and truly cares. I always felt like I was in amazing hands with him. I can't count the times Andreas whipped up some herbs when I was fight off a cold or sinus issue and how his remedies helped to move through those illnesses much more quickly. After close to 10 years of seeing him, my living and work situation aren't currently conducive to getting into SF for appointments like that, but if my circumstances were to ever change, then I'd go back to see Andreas again in a heartbeat!
