Very unprofessional.  Cannot answer phones or schedule important surgeries for patients.

I am a patient of Dr. Iwach for many years and he is a very good professional. The office recently optimized their visiting protocol (it used to be little too long) and now every visit and fast and very efficient.

Excellent and thorough--both in regular visits and in performing procedures (I had the laser treatments for glaucoma--successful.) I especially appreciate that he explains throughly what he is doing and why.

Dr. I is the best. I trust him completely to watch over my glaucoma and his followup is excelelnt.

Dr. Iwach is extremely knowledgeable, and is the go-to glaucoma specialist for many doctors in the Bay Area.

I love Dr. Iwach!  I love knowing my eyes are in the best possible hands.  I never worry about losing my eyesight because Dr. Iwach is my doctor.  But today I want to talk about his staff.  When I went in today, there was a lady who looked to me like she'd had a stroke.  His staff was so darned nice with her.  There was one young woman in particular who was assisting her and I saw another staff member smiling at their interaction.  I thought to myself, she must be thinking how nice it is to work in such a lovely, caring environment.  Beyond that, everyone is super efficient!  And, Dr. Iwach is concerned with how I am treated.  Oh, and I like their choice of entertainment on those big screens:  Old musicals!  It may not be to everyone's liking, but as I headed off from Minnesota to NY when I was 18 in 1962 to conquer Broadway, I love it.  Today a young man and I had a "moment" laughing at a wonderfully funny interaction between Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons in Guys and Dolls.  The music is generally so low you don't even notice it if you don't want to. What a nice place to visit, even under the circumstances.  I also think their location is very easy to get to.

My dad's eye pressure has been under control after a surgery by his ophthalmologist Dr. Iwach a year ago.Recently, about two weeks before my dad's next scheduled appointment, he accidentally found out during a special evaluation by another doctor that his eye pressure was 44.  He was told to see his own ophthalmologist immediately.  Upon hearing that, we went straight to Dr. Iwach's office.  The waiting room was packed.  We told the receptionist the situation and to our surprise, Dr. Iwach could see my dad in 20 minutes.  Dr. Iwach found the problem and did a laser surgery immediately.  Eye pressure dropped down to normal right after the surgery.  Dr. Iwach told my dad to go back the next day to check the eye pressure.  At first, my dad said he could come in the afternoon, but Dr. Iwach urged him to come as early as possible.  The eye pressure at this next day appointment and the couple more subsequent appointments showed eye pressure was normal.  My dad was so relieved.When I did not feel well and wanted to see my own family doctor, my family doctor's office would either deny because the doctor had no time, or tell me to go to the doctor's office and wait for hours to see if there was a slot to squeeze me in.  Dr. Iwach is extremely busy, but the fact that he could see my dad in 20 minutes shows he cares about his patient.  Also, how he urged my dad to come back as early as possible the day after the laser surgery again shows how much he cares.It is not easy to find a doctor who is good and cares about his patient.  I highly recommend Dr. Iwach.

This doctor may be credentialed and friendly, but he is incompetent. The practice is money-grubbing, surgery-pushing, and completely inefficient and irrational. I was sent for a consultation - which should be a 15 min discussion - and was told it would be covered by insurance. Instead I got 6 different junior people (looked like high school age) to carelessly and mindlessly conduct different tests, which took over 3 1/2 hours. When there was a big black bar of the machine in my field of vision on one of the tests, the technician said not to worry about that! There were no other patients in the waiting room that day but the doctor's explanation for the long wait was that he was having a bad day and one appt took 10 minutes longer than planned (which doesn't begin to explain a 3+ hour wait). He then examined my eyes and hurt me in the process, saying, "oh, I must have pushed too hard." I'd hate to think of what would happen if the surgery was scheduled on one of his bad days. He explained that I have a 5% chance of a problem, and disingenuously said he would sleep better if I did the surgery. Why pushing surgery for a non-problem? Then, to add insult to injury, they charged me over $200 for things they didn't even perform. When questioned, they revised it but didn't reduce my bill. When I challenged this again, they then sent the bill to a collection agency! Unbelievable, unprofessional, egregious practice. If you value your eyesight, go somewhere else.
