List of Andrew Wang's Reviews
Never saw the doctor. This is based on the lady who answered the phone. I really hope there is a recording of our conversation. She was very rude. I asked for an apt as a new patient . She said they are not accepting new patients because of on going insurance issues. And to call back in one month. I asked if There were recommendations for any doctors I can contact. She said no aNd hung up. I am human who wants to be treated with respect. I really hope she gets in trouble because this is the first step to a business and if she is treating people this way how are we suppose to trust our healthcare providers.. to every successful business she is a representation of the doctor and if this is what they think is a good face and role model, they are wrong. Please train the receptionist to treat people with respect. Not sure if she doesnt like her job, but if thats the case she should quit. Or if she is having a bad day, take a breather and walk away rather than answer the phone and be rude. I dont know the lady nor would I ever treat anyone like that.
This review is mostly for Dr. Wangs P.A., Emily Fung, who I see on a regular basis for the past year. Emily is amazing shes patient, takes her time during the appointments to ask questions or explain an diagnosis. Shes very calm and gentle. I get anxious about the doctor, but Emilys approach makes the visit a delight!
Ive been a patient of Dr. Wang for a few years, and overall found him to be good. Hes been accessible when I needed an urgent visit, and patient with explaining things and answering questions. I also appreciate that he does not overproscribe tests or procedures, and hes been open about telling me when something could be resolve with a simple over the counter solution, or even something like bed rest. He takes meticulous notes and will circle back on items from past visits. He does move a bit quickly sometimes, so its helpful to have the questions you want answered in your mind to make sure you get to ask all of them, but I never felt overly rushed. I would recommend him.
This reflects the service of Andrew Wang and his staff.Andrew Wang rushed through every appointment of mine and failed to provide proper care for a chronic cough Ive been having. I went to a different doctor today and they said at this point they were surprised he never issued a referral to see a lung doctor. Also, ... he did not see a hernia I might be developing... Which is surprising to me because within a week another doctor at my urgent care found out... With this doctor, you might risk your life. His front desk staff is cold and rude. Its hard to get through. From what I observe I suspect sometimes they put patients on hold just because they are chatting. Steer away.

Updating, this review concerns the performance of Dr. Wang personally. My initial experience was that he would exit the interview abruptly, without any indication or explanation. A bit distressing. On subsequent meetings I learned that he spends 20 minutes with a patient for a 30 minute appointment. The first 10 minutes are spent having your blood pressure measured by a nurse and waiting. For his interview during the next 20 minutes he focuses his attention on the screen of his laptop and is not happy for interruptions that require him to look at and engage with the patient. If he accepts a 5 minute interruption, you get a total of 15 minutes for a 30 minute appointment. On medical records, he produced an excellent (or better) record for our first appointment.
I wish hat I could give a better rating but unfortunately, not. This rating reflects the service, or lack thereof, of Dr. Wangs office, not the service of Dr. Wang himself. Of the 15 or more medical offices I have experienced in San Francisco since year 2000, the service at this office is unquestionably the worst. The personnel can seem a bit disinterested but that is not exclusive to this office. The lack of responsiveness is what gives this office one star: a request for a referral faxed several months ago as yet to receive a response; a request left on the office answering machine at 4:10 PM last Friday (six days ago) has yet to receive a response; and today, after hearing the recorded message that the office hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, the office is closed at 4:30 PM.
Ive been a patient of Dr. Wang for about 5 years now and I am surprised that there were any reviews on here other than 5 stars. Dr. Wang is just fantastic. He is a top notch Doctor in every aspect. I have had lots of Doctors to gauge by as I am a cancer survivor (so far anyway). If you want professional, current/up to date treatment, you will want Dr. Wang. The entire health industry has undergone lots of change since Obamacare and the office has had to adapt to all the various changes in the industry...but Dr. Wang never fails to give his patients the very finest medical care. I highly recommend Dr. Wang to anyone in need of a doctor.
The best primary care physician I have ever had. At age 70 I have had numerous health issues in the last few years and Dr. Wang has treated me both in and out of hospital and was very understanding; referring me to the proper specialists when necessary and doing a great job in managing my pain. I have stenosis of the spine, type 2 diabetes and C.O.P.D..Practically all of my ailments are either from my own stupidity like back pain due to motorcycle accident at age 58 or exacerbated due to smoking for 50 plus years and diabetes from a lifelong addiction to sugar and anything else that is detrimental to my health. Even though I am the worlds worst patient, Dr Wang has treated me with good humor and no superfluous lectures. All in all I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a good and caring family doctor.
I found this doctor to be inhumane, authoritarian, cold and disloyal.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
