Dr. Wong has been my Doctor for over 20 years. Over the 20 plus years, I never had any major issues with him except the last visit. I had an allergic reaction on my face and was hoping the problem could be taken care of by Christmas. Not to mention it was extremely hard to schedule for an appointment, I was able to see him after waiting for an hour as standby. Things were ok but he just flipped after he found out I had not done my blood test in two years. He repeatedly told me that he was really pissed at me and threatened to drop me as his patient. I was given a month to take care of my blood test or else dont bother to come . My immediate problem, according to him, of course, was not my face but that stupid blood test and because I was not a good patient, I could not get a prescription. Thanks for yelling at me like I am your daughter. Thanks for your attitude and unprofessionalism. Guess what? Dont bother giving me an ultimatum. You are not dropping me, I am. Adios!

I completely agree with muchi. I like Dr. Wong but I fortunately do not have many medical issues that requires a lot of attention. I am willing to wait to see him because hes very pleasant and I enjoy seeing him annually. But, his daughter, Lisa, who recently started working in the office is so rude! I asked her how long is the wait because I need to feed the meter and she literally stuck her hand in my face and said I dont need to talk to you right now!. She also made it completely clear that Dr. Wong is her dad. I guess when you work for your dad and you dont need to worry about being fired, you dont need to worry about customer service. I havent decided whether to change docs yet. I guess if I decided to stay, Ill only talk to Val or even Henrietta, the other front desk people who have never been rude to me.

Dr. Clifford Wong has provided medical care for my dad, before his passing, my mom, sister and I for about twenty years.  He has shown patience and understanding to my parents issues and needs over the years and they have always felt comfortable with the care provided.  Dr. Wong is diligent in prescribing all the necessary lab tests and medical test and ensures they are done.  You will get a reminder, if you havent done the test and I can testify to that.  That shows his commitment and his care for his patients.The office can get busy, but the front office staff does a commendable job from checkin to scheduling your followup visits to arranging specialist referrals and calling patients to remind them of their nextday appointment.  For those that cant visit Dr. Wong is at this office on MWF, he is at his Webster St. office on TTh.  Our family appreciates the medical care Dr. Wong has provided to us.

Personally I like Dr Wong as a nice person, but his annual check up was wasting times. Not because I have to get his referral to see the doctor who took care of me, I rather stay home and rest. Also more importantly I did not get the way to be treated as customer nor patient from the ppl / nurse at the counter. Dont yell at me or trying to talk over me! My insurance is part if ur paycheck. Looking forward to my new doctor.

I know that Dr. Clifford C Wong is highly regarded among other doctors for his knowledge and compassion.  He speaks very quickly, I think because his mind is racing along in English and Cantonese and Mandarin (+? more).  Hes great.  He treats everyone equally and sees many poor people.  Ive been to both his offices since he became my primary physician in the mid80s.  I think he may see too many people in his Chinatown office (which is always packed) because everyone trusts him and it seems he cannot turn anyone away.  His referral network is vast and whenever I was referred to a specialist (CPMC dermatologist, eye doctor and gastroenterologist), I was treated like family.I am quite surprised to see some low ratings for Dr. Wong, but to each his own.  I get along quite well with his dedicated and overworked staff by being polite and patient.  They are doing their best to keep up with the whirlwind that is Dr. Wong who carries a huge patient load because he cares.

Dr. Wong is a very good doctor.  If you are looking for someone who actually CARES about your well being and will THOROUGHLY try to figure out your ailments and answer your questions, he is the right doctor for you. I know people complain about having to wait to see him, but once you see him, he will give you the same attention he has given everyone else.  Besides, with the number of patients he sees, plus the fact that he allows people to come in on standby (after 5), I can understand the wait.  If you dont want to wait, his son is also a great doctor too, and has more time available.   If you want to schedule an appointment with his son, Christopher, over the phone, his staff will easily transfer you to that office.  Dr. Wongs staff is always courteous and knowledgeable.  Being bilingual (in Chinese and English) is a big plus in San Francisco, which is a skill he and his staff exhibit. Kudos to Dr. Wong!

Dr. Wong is a pretty good Dr. but I hate the wait... Its always over 60 min. wait and the people at the front desk is not very professional... I dont know about his son though!

Dr. Clifford Wong has done nothing for my dad except collect copay for his 5 minute consultation. My dad sees him regularly ONLY because Dr. Wong speaks Cantonese and Im sure thats why many people see him due to language barrier. My fathers last visit with Dr. Wong is where I draw the line and decide to change primary care physicians. He is unprofessional and he scolded my dad for not telling him that he was hospitalized and did nothing except tell him to come back a week later to see him again (and collect another $30 of copay). Take his temperature and pretend you care at least.My dad waits about 3060 minutes each time to see Dr. Wong for 5 minutes. Must be making good money since he doesnt do anything during that 5 minutes he actually sees the patient. Dr. Wong only diagnosed that he has high blood pressure and didnt check for anything else. My dad found out he has severe heart disease after he had a heart attack and was hospitalized. Sorry Dr. Wong, maybe my dad should have diagnosed it himself and told you about it. Please change doctors as soon as possible. There are MANY Chinese speaking doctors out there. It was confirmed by other doctors at CPMC that Dr. Clifford Wong is not the brightest out there when he was doing his residency at CPMC. I wish someone told me sooner so my father didnt have to waste time seeing him.
