List of Clinton Young's Reviews
Would you recommend a doctor who didnt return multiple phone calls for a week or longer? Doubtful. Very unresponsive.
Do not waste your time. He seems to be phoning it in and should probably retire. He barely looks or talks to me when I come in, and rushes through everything. I should have left him years ago.
If there were zero stars or less, Dr. Clinton Young would receive it. He rushes through the exams. Walks in, gives you about 20 seconds of his time based on the concerns you raise with his receptionist....and then he immediately turns around and tries to walk out before you have a chance to ask a question. This was not a one time issue. EVERY TIME .... EVERY VISIT.... UNACCEPTABLE. Ive tried to be patient. Saw him approximately 4 times. Each visit was the same. Each visit no longer than 1 minute. Each visit was not personable. Each visit I received no caring advice. Each visit I regretted seeing him. Looking for a new doctor now. He should be ashamed of himself. Patients should beware. If you want a doctor that shows he cares....look elsewhere. If you want a doctor to spend a few minutes, not a few seconds with you to give advice.....look elsewhere. If you want a GOOD doctor....look elsewhere. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Waste of money and he makes you feel like you are a waste of his time.
Dr. Young deserves 5 stars and so do the nurses and medical assistants. However, the accounting and scheduling personnel continue to be unacceptably rude. In particular Suzie in accounting, needs to learn better customer service skills and not rush people on the phone or hang up prematurely.

Two issues here: 1. The man does not listen. I attempted to explain my concerns. I tried two or three times. I handed him lab tests reflecting the facts behind my concerns. He repeatedly told me something that made it clear that he hadnt listened to what I said and wasnt interested in what I said. Finally I suggested that we give up, that this the visit wasnt working. I tried one more time. Then he said it wasnt working, got up and ushered me out. We spent less than five minutes together. In that five minutes he failed to hear what I was saying much less offer a response to what I was saying or any medical advice. 2. Insurance fraud: the office billed for a complete office visit. This may have been a mistake. If not, if they intended to bill for my brief exchange with Young, then this is not ethical. I am appalled.Update: Yesterday: I called the billing office and spoke with someone named Susan. She was confrontational and unpleasant. She kept interrupting me and speaking over me. I called back and spoke to someone else. She actually listened to what I had to say and was quite polite. I informed that person that I expected that the charge would be reversed; that I needed to hear by end of day today that this had been taken care of; and that if it wasnt then I would complain with all the relevant entities. She told me that Young was out today. I reminded her that people have phones these days and carry with them everywhere.Today: Susan called to tell me that the charge would be reversed. She failed to apologize for the inconvenience.
How am I just now writing a review for Dr. Young? I have been seeing him for more than half of my adult life (lets just say more than 25 years). Obviously I am a fan. So is my wife, who also sees him. Dr. Young has been there for me through so many stages, and events in my life. He is always a calm voice, with a thoughtful and extremely well trained approach. I trust him with my life, and he has never let me down. I could not recommend someone more.
Simply put Dont waste your time 6 phones calls and no response back. Im reading my own Endo lab results and their off the chart even my PCP hasnt called. A useless group Try to go to UCSF
My fiancé has been a patient of Dr. Young for about 2 years now. Dr. Young is on the brink of retirement and it is clear that he has one foot out the door. Dont get me wrong; he seems like a great guy and knowledgeable. Appointments were quick, but when it came to following up and ensuring my fiancé got the proper medication that was agreed upon, we have the pharmacy giving my fiancé the wrong medication. When calling Dr. Youngs office, the staff member who picks up Maxine is horrendous. She is rude, does not allow you to speak as she will cut you off and just tell you the doctor is busy. I understand doctors get busy, but for her not to even allow me or my fiancé to talk about what we need, its unacceptable. We are literally dealing with someones life and I find it completely absurd that these people are supposedly in the healthcare industry, but dont want to hear what the patients have to say. Not only is she rude, its a miracle if you get passed the voicemail. 9 out of 10 times, youll get to the voicemail. You leave a detailed message and you are NOT guaranteed to get a call back. Its not like their phones are ringing off the hook when youre present for the appointment. Shes just lazy in my opinion. If you need a healthcare team thats professional and reliable, look elsewhere. You will not get the healthcare service you would hope to receive.
Dr. Young has been my primary care physician for several years. He has an excellent bedside manner and has always helped me recover from illnesses and injuries. When my numbers have not been good (e.g. blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, A1c), he has never been judgmental but has encouraged me to not give up. I trust him and am very happy being under his care. Over the years I have also dealt with his assistant, Ill refer to her as K. Her help has always been acceptable but never outstanding. Well today she must have been overly stressed and overworked because she was very rude, impatient, and brought me to tears. I had just seen the doctor about an infected toe and was waiting to make a followup appointment. K was very busy on the phone which is understandable because its a very busy practice. When a physician came up to ask her something she immediately dropped what she was doing and gave him her undivided attention. Again, thats understandable because its her boss. After she helped the doctor, and before she could get back on the phone, I mentioned that I would wait in the waiting room and come back in a few minutes to make my next appointment. I just wanted to get off my foot since I had been standing there for a while. I wasnt complaining about the wait but something set her off. She raised her voice at me and asked me if I wanted her to help me or not. I said that I thought she was being mean to me and she responded that she always talks that way. She said that lots of people are hard of hearing and that she needs to speak loudly. I think this last statement is a very poor excuse for justifying a behavior that has no place in a professional setting. While I dont doubt there are patients with hearing problems it is very condescending to tell me that this is why she was yelling at me. Rather, I speculate that she was handling too many things and she took out her frustration on me. She did apologize in the same agitated manner by saying, If my tone offends you, Im sorry. I replied, It doesnt offend me. It hurts my feelings. I felt she was unfairly scolding me when I never once rushed her. As a refuge, I came to Yelp to read reviews about Dr. Youngs practice. It has helped tremendously to read that others find K to be brusque and it tells me that I am not being overly sensitive. I am also reassured that I did nothing to provoke such an outburst. However, after reading other reviews, Im now worried that like a couple of other patients Ill be dropped for speaking up about Ms. Ks treatment. I am very happy with Dr. Young and I hope there is no retribution for sharing my bad experience with his assistant. Perhaps if this input reaches her, she can ask herself if theres anything she can do to improve patient relations and acknowledge that at times she can be less than courteous. This is especially important in a medical setting where patients may not always feel well. I do have to add that K has always returned my calls promptly. My refills have also always been handled smoothly. Too bad Im now scared of making K mad in any way. I hope she doesnt ask me to find another doctor. And I certainly hope I dont get a letter saying that Dr. Young will no longer see me. Five huge stars for Dr. Young but unfortunately his assistant lowers his rating to a three.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
