One word.... Amazing. Don't be intimidated it's county building so it's safe and they are all about harm reduction. No checking bags or anything. PHACS and RAMS and well as security all the pharmacists and even security guard have regained my hope and never given up on me. I can not thank the people that have taken time out of their day spending 20 extra minutes after closing to help explain my detox. It is e to be different but I noticed a big change in the pharmacy and they actually come to you door if you need them to to do checks and they are so genuine and kind I could cry. I love people that are non judgemental and never give up on people. They are happy to help addicts and or people dependent on opiates from pain surgeries all the way up to a 3, 7 , or 14 day taper which has been working to get people off of fentanyl. Just ask about the program or just ask for bup info or for Damiens info and or your primary can prescribe your meds now too (they are super busy but super awesome) I will write more later I'm just extremely grateful and want people to know help is out there and never to give up on yourself or a family member. Keep the faith and restore your hope and live a beautiful life with the help of buprenorphene and or Suboxone or methadone. Also, great quality of care, and awesome place for resources and help with housing info or referrals like 123 10th Street is a good place to start housing. Big shout out to Damian and the whole team there in the pharmacy and PHACS. Kathy you are amazing too. Thanks again all of you for being patient and not giving up on me. And for the bad review.. the guy is a little bit pessimistic and only has 4 reviews all negative and totally unhappy with everything in life so please go to this place and do not let that one bad post or any of his 4 one star reviews get to you. Hes a troll. God Bless y'all see you soon. I've been referring people to you. One started today and I'm soo happy I'm able to get people to a place I trust and that wants to help the fentanyl epidemic. I hope to get back into my going on 3 year elite help but all social media hacked. Blessed they understand my situation too and I can't be more motivated and happy to have OBIC PHACS RAM and the whole crew including security and front desk people all work hard and now open weekends too because of people detoxing which is awesome! Can't say enough good things about this place and the people that make it what it is, true life savers and angels. Ttys. Highly recommend for you or loved one struggling with any opiate as they have the opiate analgesic detox taper program now. Don't give up! Get better and have a testimony to help others and live your Souls True Purpose!!! :)
In 2016, I sought help, grievance, and legal help, yet I was told to "settle" unsettling civil and criminal issues with the administrators where I live. I wanted to commit suicide several times. . . . THE CLINICAL STAFF ILLEGALLY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE PEOPLE WITH OR WITHOUT REASON. Obviously, some patients get "cured" while I alone lay rotting and embittered. Wish you experienced and felt the way I did back then: NO HELP! Hire a lawyer first. UPDATE: Many years has passed since I sought help to improve both my mental and physical health. For me, my mental illness is deeply rooted in growing up with a disabled sibling whose envy, jealousy, resentment, and hatred was displaced onto me, sabotaging my livelihood, and my ultimate demise. Combine that with growing up in a dysfunctional family, societal ignorance and stigma with mental illness and blindness; scapegoating and alienation is society's elixir. Only a paucity of medical professionals and clinicians understand both my mental and physical health; however, that price only comes due with significant age, listening, learning, discourse, experience, maturity, responsibility, ethics, morals, analysis, professionalism, leadership, work, and integrity. Self-effacing, indulgent, corruptive, and destructive habits only worsen ones mental health. Expecting and wanting too many things is a very bad idea. As an adult, one parents oneself for there are no real heros.
My brother has been seeing the same therapist for a long time. They are very caring.
After visiting Community Behavioral Health Services, I have started recovering quickly.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! CBHS has been my singular mental health agency for nearly 15 years. I have a complex constellation of serious mental health illnesses (SMI) ranging from chronic depressive/anxiety disorder to borderline personality disorder. I have been a client of both individual therapy and psychiatry services, and my SMI has made it very difficult to maintain stable employment. As my wellness has grown across time as a CBHS consumer, I enrolled in the very excellent CBHS/Department of Rehabilitation Vocational CO-OP. I received clerical training here, paid on-the-job training, and weekly job coaching. My psychological health continues to improve. I'm in another CBHS employment program- a two-year employment internship where I am enhancing my skills, building my self-esteem, and establishing a trusted, reliable reputation. This has never happened for me before! Of course, like anyone with a life-long, chronic illness, I have setbacks, but CBHS provides me the supoort I need as it has all along. If you need excellent care and feel stuck or are unsure about your resources, contact CBHS and discuss your circumstances. You will be greeted by sensitive staff- often individuals with lived experience who can help you, who want to help you, and who believe that you can help yourself to improve your mental health in ways that are meaningful to you.
Do not come to this place, they will befriend you then try and stab you in the back, the co occurring clinical director Tina Carter thinks she is the doctor
I wonder what their suicide and murder rate is? I've never seen such an unorganized office. It was described to me as a business. Mental health is a business? Not a practice? Nobody answers the phone. When you do leave a message you're lucky if they call you back 2 days later if at all. They are always late to see me. Making it a pain with my tight schedule. They tried to charge me 200 or so dollars because of mixed up financial records. They mix up and forget prescriptions. I'm currently going through withdrawal because I was0 told I had a few more refills. Nope. Can't get in touch with anyone. I can't wait until they go out of "business". Currently looking for a new office. If you need mental help, stay away. They will make your problems worse.
Paul Q's review is absolutely consistent with my own experiences with CBHS. I'm not privy to the inner workings of that organization, so I can't vouch for everything Paul says with absolute certainty. But let's just say that his comments would explain a LOT about my own extremely unsatisfying attempts to get treatment through them. As far as I'm concerned, the so-called mental health treatment that CBHS provides is nothing more than a self-serving, cynical charade. From what I could tell, their real job is not to provide genuine mental health services to those who can't afford private treatment, it's to help the city of SF pretend that they're doing so. Sure, they'll hook you up with a therapist (regardless of whether he or she is even remotely a good fit for you), and they'll also give you a psych who'll prescribe you generic antidepressants that relieve symptoms but do nothing to treat the core problem. What they WON'T do is to make any serious attempt to address the underlying issues that you're dealing with. Trying to get treatment from them is the equivalent of having cancer or a tumor and going to a doctor only to find that he will only give you aspirin and a massage but refuses to do X-rays or blood tests. And when you try to get them to figure out whether you have cancer or a tumor (or the mental health equivalent, as it were), they'll give you the runaround. One particularly common stalling tactic of theirs was to whine, "That's just a label. Why is it so important to have a label?"
Be highly discriminate in your encounters with those who may be directly or indirectly working for the branch of the Department of Public Health's Community Behavioral Health Services. Some people are there for you and some are definitely not. It's a bureaucracy, after all. The head of CBHS, Dr. Bob C. delegates complaints to underlings who seem entirely uninterested in the validity of those complaints with regards to City of San Francisco sub-contractors called Baker Places. Whatever you do, never find yourself in their properties, whether it's their 3 month, or Adult Independent living program. The lack of skilled help employed by this organization need intensive investigation by CBHS. They, CBHS, appear unwilling because it would upset and long established and convenient arrangement with the city to warehouse persons recovering from mental illness with the dually diagnoses, many of whom just come back into the Baker "stream" again and again as they work the incompetence of staff and the system for all it's worth to them. FYI, 62% of those receiving mental health services in San Francisco are NOT dually diagnosed. These are Dept. of Public Health statistics. Baker Places has lots of complaints filed by "consumers" at the advocacy (for mental health patients) agency. They also have multiple complaints lodged and logged in the Human Rights offices in the city. If you have mental health problems, call Access for Mental health at 415-240-3737 If you do find yourself with this organization, tell them as little about yourself as possible, I promise that EVERYTHING you say about yourself WILL be used against you as a tool of manipulation by their staff. You will not find their "program" (which often is just reading from literature they took from some book that focuses almost exclusively on drugs and alcohol) helpful. Get pro-active and advocate for yourself. Learn your rights, and most importantly, keep notes of what goes on, how their manipulations make you feel, and send any important objections in writing to them and appropriate agencies that are designated to protect you. Keep copies of important correspondence at your therapists' or pastors safe-keeping, for they will go through your belongings to prevent your self protection. I know this from first hand experience and unfortunately I didn't keep everything in writing and got screwed by them because of it. It is vitally important to your mental health to prevent covert and overt abuses by your "care takers".

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
