List of Daniel Goodman's Reviews
I had a 9:30 appointment with Dr Goodman as a returning patient (he did cataract surgery several years ago). A staff tech brought me to an exam room for several tests, then moved me to another exam room to wait. Finally Dr Wong OD came in and did a further exam and left. After a long wait I was taken to another room where Dr Wong did a test and returned to wait for Dr Goodman. He never showed up. At 11:30 I left. I said at the desk I wasn't waiting any longer. The response was a curt "sorry 'bout that".
I got my Lasik done at Goodman Eye Center in March 2021. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I’m so happy I chose Goodman. From the 1st consultation until the post-op checkups, I only had positive experiences with every person at Goodman. Unlike other Lasik places, they did not pressure me to rush the process, and instead made me aware of all the risks involved. They took more scans before determining that I was a good candidate. They were flexible with scheduling and understanding that I wanted to wait so I could use my FSA. The day of, the operation went smoothly and calmly. Dr Goodman talked me through each step and I barely felt anything. He also gave me drops, sunglasses, and an eye cover to use during the first week after recovery.Right now, my vision is already better than 20/20. I was previously -4.0/-3.75. The discomfort after the operation only lasted about 12 hours, and even 3 days after the procedure, I no longer had side effects or light sensitivity. It’s incredible to not need contract lenses or glasses. My girlfriend is getting her Lasik done at Goodman Eye Center next month, and I highly recommend this practice to anyone who’s a good candidate!
Dr. Goodman and his team are world-class medical professionals, who specialize in saving lives. Prior to enlisting Dr. Goodman’s world-renowned expertise in correcting degenerative eye diseases, I thought I was helpless. I feared I’d no longer be able to work because of my poor vision, and was desperate for solutions to my problems. My concerns quickly dissappeared when I first met with Dr. Goodman in 2016. He assured me he could correct my eye sight and he’s followed through on every part of his plan. Keratoconus and Cataracts have been managed/removed, and although the journey is a marathon, not a sprint, I’d have it no other way than having “Coach” Goodman leading the charge. He and his staff have been flexible on payments and I’m confident in saying the Goodman Eye Center has been the best investment I’ve ever made. I can’t thank these wonderful people enough. Current and past staff. Just stellar!
Great experience getting LASIK here. They were thoughtful and thorough on COVID protocols, prepared me well for the surgery, and my results were great — 20/15 vision after a week.
Dr. Goodman is such a compassionate and caring opthomologist. I went to Dr. Goodman many years ago for an eye test. I later had to see him as a patient because my regular opthomologist was no longer taking my insurance plan. I chose Dr. Goodman because I saw how caring and a good doctor he is. I highly recommend him.
I had LASIK with the team at the Goodman eye center. Everything was great and the team super quick and knowledgeable. I couldn’t recommend more highly!
Stay away from this place! If you go, they will treat you not as a patient but as an opportunity to charge as much as they can get away with. I imagine that Dr. Goodman is good at what he does – I had been there previously for investigation of a medical condition and thought that what he said made sense – but this office will inflate and invent charges that make no sense. I went for a simple vision exam, to get my eyeglasses prescription updated, which should have been covered by VSP no problem. Oops! Somehow this turned into a charge for hundreds of dollars to my health insurance for a “comprehensive exam.” You see, even though I made it extremely clear that I was just there for the vision exam, Dr. Goodman invited himself into the room for literally one minute, looked into my eyes, said everything’s OK, and boom! That’s what they call “comprehensive” which apparently justifies their charging hundreds of dollars for one minute of the doctor’s time. I found out about this only bit-by-bit as I got odd notices from my insurance. I had to make many phone calls to Dr. Goodman’s office to get to the bottom of this and, each time, the people I talked to were self-righteous, condescending jerks, insisting that they had the right to charge for whatever they want, that they have the right to decide if I need more than a vision exam, they know what's best for me better than I do, etc. Their way of charging not only got them paid for a bogus “comprehensive” exam but, by making my vision check part of that, it’s now not covered by my health insurance or by VSP. Do they care? Of course not, it’s more money for them. Don’t waste your time at this place, find a doctor that isn’t a fraud.
i had a posterior sub-capsular cataract that was severely impacting my vision. Dr. Goodman and his staff fixed my eye and were extremely professional and efficient throughout the process. I always knew what to expect at every step. My surgery was about two weeks ago and my vision is better than it has been in more than ten years. I highly recommend Dr. Goodman for anyone who may need cataract surgery.
Excellent patient care; friendly, attentive staff; no complaints: Dr. Goodman recently performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The procedure was quick, painless, and successful. From the initial consultation to post-op care, he and his staff listened closely to my concerns, answered all of my questions, and helped me overcome my anxiety of going "under the knife." It wasn't cheap, but when it comes to my eyes, I didn't want to take any risks: I wanted the best doctor in the Bay Area for the procedure, and, by reputation and peer accounts, that's Dr. Goodman.
He's strictly in it for the money. I went to Daniel Goodman for a consult from my usual eye doctor, after cataract removal and implantation of a new lens. Although my usual doctor had sent my records to Dr. Goodman in advance. Dr. Goodman refused to use any of the provided information. I told him and his assistants multiple times that I did NOT need a full new patient workup, but they insisted on doing it. (Predictably, my insurance returned a verdict of "not covered.") I had come for options about some of the issues that remained after my cataract surgery; all I left with was a verbal recommendation for reading glasses at the drugstore, and the opportunity to hear Dr. Goodman dictate a letter to my usual doctor, focusing on my unhappiness with the outcome and giving his recommendation that there was nothing to be done. Unhelpful and expensive.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
