Daniel Roth's Online Review Report Card

My appointment was on time, office staff was friendly and prompt. Dr. Roth is friendly, astute, and thorough. Theres never any rush to get the patient out of his office. The parking can be a problem but thats not his fault.Id recommend Dr. Roth to anyone.

If you find yourself under Dr. Roths care, you are one of the more fortunate people in the Bay Area. Over the more than 25 years that I have been seeing him,  he has remained consistently patientcentered.  He is always concerned, conscientious, and careful in his evaluations, recommendations, and referrals.  He remembers specifics from previous illnesses and treatments, and he is always willing to discuss options for care.  Dr. Roth treats the whole person, not just the symptoms, and for that alone, he deserves five stars.

Dr Roth 5 stars. Office staff 0 stars.I love Dr. Roth and have been going to him for at least 20 years. He is an old fashioned doctor in that he listens to you ( real symptoms, psychosomatic symptoms, you had a bad day with your boss/ 3 year old, anything) and takes the time to explain everything in great detail in an engaging way that is not overly clinical nor overly simplistic. I dont go to the doctor that often but when I do, he is really there for me. He is a gem.He just moved offices to Clay Street and although the front desk staff at his old office was nothing to write home about, these folks at the new location all clearly need a course in interpersonal skills, customer service for the healthy and more importantly customer service for the sick. I have been literally in bed for the past 5 days with bronchitis and a fever. Last night the fever was 103 and I was very miserable. I had seen Dr. Roth on friday and he told me the fever might last a few more days. It was a holiday weekend, so I called first thing on Tuesday to see what I should do about the fever. Is it normal? Was I dying of an infection? By 4pm no call back. I called again, after verifying my identity in 6 different ways, the charmer who answered the phone said, oh he has 48 hours to call you back. Concerned for my welfare not at all, in no way courteous, sympathetic nor human. I told you that this morning (she had not). And I was like, what am I supposed to do? Go to the hospital? Can I speak with another doctor (no)? I was told to go to the emergency room, which is obviously very inexpensive and such a good use of those doctors time. Amen!

Dr. Roth has been my doctor for more than 15 years. He is courteous, kind, and knowledgeable. I will be very sad when he decides to retire.

Dr Roth is the best doctor weve ever had.  He is funny, patient, kind and concerned.   Love, love, love him.

Dr. Roth has been my primary care MD for many years, and I feel fortunate to have him by my side when needed.  Both he and his excellent staff could not be more helpful.

Horrible experience with Dr. Roth. He seems to not care about what I as a patient is really feeling but his own perception. Everything I tell him he would not only dismiss me but also being rude at doing so. Didnt really provide any kind of care and refused to even look at my throat ( I went in for throat pain and light fever ) twice and only pretended to look at it after I insisted for the third time. I was entirely shocked by this experience and in my opinion someone who cares this little shouldnt be a doctor at all. Meanwhile, I wouldnt typically say this but, my impression was his dismissive attitude has to do with the fact Im a youngish looking woman (Im in my late 30s but kinda look younger). He had his eyebrows raised at me and had an adversarial attitude from the moment he laid eyes on me. At some point he mumbled to me (or maybe to himself) something about older people in pain thats real. Anyways this was an entirely strange encounter, absolutely wasnt what I (or anyone should really) expected from a medical appointment. Utter disgrace .

Dr. Daniel Roth is a strange doctor.  Everytime I complained about a pain or discomfort, he would undermine it. He would go into a rant nanana. He would do that during every visit, it would never fail.  He would deny further investigation of the problem by refusing to provide referrals to the specialists.  He would prevent access to health care instead of making it available to me, as a primary care doctor.  His blocking medical care would add anxiety to the difficulty I was already going through.  Dont expect any listening or partnership with him.  He will decide how much pain you are in or what you are going through.  Nor were there any examination of overall health.  Till I could make a switch to a different doctor, he stressed me out completely.  At Pacific Family Care I had good experience with the staff.  Mike, Lauren and Elizabeth.  Unfortunately doctors are the key players.

Dr. Hoffman is aleays great. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I especially appreciated that he is always focused on my concerns before just prescribing something. A welcome addition to the community.
