Dr. Richard Burroughs's Online Review Report Card

Veryyy poorly run office. Agree with previous comment that the office staff is garbage. Understaffed, rushed, rude and takes forever to get anything done. Regret so much ever coming here and now I'm stuck waiting on approval from them to get my medication - it's been two weeks and counting.

I went to see Dr. Burroughs when my other dermatologist wasn't available and I am so glad I did. I had a severe sunburn and I was getting worried b/c I was getting all these red spots and that's never happened to me before. Also, the itchiness was driving me crazy. He took a look and prescribed some ointment for me and explained to apply a small dab on the burn followed by Vaseline. It worked right away. Thank you Dr. Burroughs!

I see Dr Burroughs for annual skin cancer screenings. He's just fine. Pretty no-nonsense, gets the job done but seems thorough, and patient enough to answer my questions. I've not really dealt with him on other skin issues apart from basic dry flaky skin and the like. He's not exactly outgoing, or great with the bedside manner, but at least for the skin cancer screenings it's pretty routine and I'm not looking for a lot of chit-chat.

I saw Dr Burroughs at the Pleasanton office, but he also has an office in San Francisco.Thank you Dr Burroughs. Thank you Dr Burroughs. Thank you Dr Burroughs. I feel like I can never say enough Thank yousssssss. I'll try to keep this short. For around one year, I had this issue on my skin where I can't find a solution. I've seen several Urologist, Family doctors, numerous blood test, Chinese medicine, used numerous creams, etc......however, none of them can find out what's wrong with me. It was a very very frustrating process. I was depressed because I was thinking... "Will I have to live like this for the rest of my life?" Specialists didn't suggest me to see a Dermatologist, my primary care doctor didn't know what to do. Dr Burrough took a sample from my skin, sent it to the lab, and found out that I had a "scant growth of enterococcus faecalis" on my skin. He called me immediately after the results came back and prescribed me a cream that saved me. He also told me to be patient because my skin has taken a beating from all the medication prescribed from other doctors. He's caring, patient, and attentive. Because he cared so much, he even told me to visit his San Francisco office just to follow up while we are waiting for the lab results. (He's only at the Pleasanton office once a week). If we have more doctors like you, this world will be a better place. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I hope that this will help others!-Duncan

I had a bad allergic reaction (or something) to a facial last Sunday, and by Tuesday I was desperate for some relief and an idea of when this might end, and how, as it only seemed to be staying the same or even worsening. I was able to get an appointment that same afternoon with Dr. Burroughs, and am so glad, because he immediately made me feel better -- he assured me it likely would be over in about a week and if not, to come right back and see him, prescribed me something for immediate relief along with a coupon to cut 70% off the price of the cream, and gently let me know everything I was inadvertently doing to make it worse while directly and clearly telling me what to do instead. I hardly had to wait at all to be seen, and I was very impressed by Dr. Burroughs' gentle, neutral bedside manner -- I was not in great shape when I got there, but I felt seen and listened to with the amount of time and thought he put into answering my (seemingly endless) questions. Would definitely recommend this doctor!

Dr Burroughs is an excellent MD. He certainly knows his stuff and is very patient as I had a bunch of questions and he answered them all in an excellent non rushed satisfying manner (even though I came right before his lunch hour) and advised me to call back if I needed a follow up visit or stronger cream for my itchy bites which are slowing going away now (thank goodness) and he also removed something from above my eye which was a godsend to get rid off. Thanks a lot Dr Burroughs and please keep up the good work. Cheers!

This is my first Yelp review and this goes out to you Dr. Burroughs (sorry it is overdue)!: I could write a novel on my whole experience of having cystic acne in my 20's and the woes treating it, but I will spare you. I will tell you that other dermatologists would not give me the time of day. I would wait months to see them and then the appointment would finally come and they would write a script before I could even finish explaining what was going on. The prescription wouldn't work, then I would wait months again for my follow up. I was exceptionally pleased that Dr. Burroughs heard me out, every appointment, and really seemed to genuinely care about getting my skin on track. The staff at the practice were very good with scheduling and billing, and my case was a little more tricky because my treatment required me to have monthly follow ups, coordinate with nurses, and I had to pay out of pocket. I appreciated he took my financial situation into account by being transparent in what I absolutely needed and didn't try to sell me on any BS. He listens, he's straight forward, and knows what he's doing, and he provided results- what more could you want? Having a clear face changed my life not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Seriously. I know it sounds cheesy, I am eternally grateful that I found him and the leaps and bounds of improvement my skin has made. THANK YOU!!

Dr. Burroughs is terrific. He is very friendly, does excellent work and patiently answered all my questions and concerns. He also contacted me afterwards with a phone call to see how I was doing and make sure I had a follow-up appointment scheduled. Very highly recommended!

Dr. Burrows is so awesome! Don't let his quiet and rather serious demeanor deter you- once you get past the introduction, what you will find is a super-kind, crazy-intelligent, GREAT doctor. He performed an in-office procedure for me, and he did a perfect job! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If that wasn't enough, his amazing medical assistant Koi totally fixed my hair to cover my bandage and my sutures so I could head off to work. Seriously, who does that? Dr. Burrows and his people get 5-Stars from me. Honestly, I hope I don't ever see him again at his office, but if I do need further dermatology help, he's my guy!
