Dr. Horn helped me enormously in resolving a series of eye irritations I had developed after a trip (a pinguecula, and discoloration, which it turned out were probably the result of sun damage). He is a skilled and thoughtful physician and his advice helped me prevent further damage.

Raised in Micanopy, Dr. Horn is delighted to return to North Central Florida after nearly two decades of private practice, teaching and research in the San Francisco Bay area, where he completed his medical training at Stanford and California Pacific Medical Center. He graduated from Brown University and Harvard Medical School. Most recently Chief of Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Vice-Chair of the Eye Department at CPMC, Dr. Horn has relocated his family to Gainesville to focus on cataract surgery, including correction of astigmatism and presbyopia with premium intraocular lenses and femtosecond laser-assisted surgery. Skilled in a variety of surgical techniques, he brings his medical expertise to patients and to supervising resident physicians in training. Dr. Horn is an entrepreneur and earned an MBA at Wharton. He is interested in medical innovation and how sight-saving and life-saving products can reach faster the people who need them.

I got 5 star service from Dr. Horn, who took the time to explain what was wrong with my eyes and how we would work together to keep glaucoma from taking my sight. I trust him completely and appreciate his staff creating a time slot so he could see me as a new patient. My previous doctor didn't diagnose me properly, and I'm so glad I made the switch to Dr. Horn's practice.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Erich Horn and his staff due to a chemical burn to my cornea.It was determined that I needed special care for four consecutive days. Dr. Horn went out ofhis way to meet me on his day off to monitor my healing process, so my eye had a chance tofully recover. If you have any eye problems, this is the Dr. you want to see. He genuinelycares about his patients well being and is one of the most knowledgeable doctors I have ever experienced.

I am 79 years old, and Dr. Erich Horn, M.D. is THE BEST! ophthalmologist I have ever had,and I saw the first one at age three and one-half years!He is incredible, addresses the patient's needs, and is willing to negotiate with the patientin order to get said patient's needs met.Moreover, he is a qualified surgeon, doctor and does a lot more than order glasses!I just so value him,Marion J Rojas, North Oakland, California

Dr Horn is a terrific doctor. He seems genuinely concerned with his patients as people, is extremely knowledgeable, explains just what is going on, and seems thoroughly competent. He is everything you could want in a doctor.

I think the greatest asset we have with/in Dr. Horn is that he actually answers your questions and seems happy doing it! He is calm, cool and smart as a whip. What luck that we found him in Oakland.
