had my hernia surgery by dr macho first on right side and later on left side after two years both thr time it was great success i had very little pain may be for three days hr is a great dr  explains very briefly before surgery

An outstanding office staff, outstanding surgeon and an overall positive experience. I researched several surgeons and came up with Dr. Macho. I had both an inguinal and umbilical hernia. They were exacerbated by my powerlifting. Thank God Dr. Macho was my surgeon. With 38 years experience, professor emeritus in surgery at UCSF he knew exactly how to handle my situation.Dr. Macho (pronounced Masho) and his staff Rochelle are awesome.

Dr. Macho performed a hernia operation with perfection and professionalism. He was able to get an operating room at St. Francis Memorial in short order and his support staff and medical staff were all pros. One day out from surgery, the pain is minimal and I was very impressed with his ongoing care and concern. The hospital also called to check on me. On note, I was selfpaying as I do not have health insurance and he was accommodating and reasonable in his fees. Overall, I am grateful for his care.

I have undergone two surgical procedures with Dr Macho. The patient experience before, during and after was exemplary on both occasions, and I am delighted with the quality of his work.

Look.   Just listen to me.  This man is awesome.  Hes the best.   Stop searching for anyone better.   Ive had 3 hernia surgeries and 1 appendectomy and they were all flawless.  Yes I probably have more mesh in my lower parts than a screen door in the south.   He takes great care in what he does and listens.  He has this tough kindness to him that makes you feel as if you have been related for years.  I trust this man like you wouldnt believe.   I have the utmost admiration for him because he operates (pun intended) from a place of humility and service.  Plus he is a foodie and loves to talk food and travel.    And for those of you still questioning, when I got the bill for surgery, his is the first I pay.  Not because I can always afford it or want to, but because I am so respectful of this mans practice.

Dr. Macho has operated on me twice. Once for hernia repair and once for removal of multiple lipomas. Both surgeries went great. Pain post surgery was almost none. The scar healed great. He is professional in his manner, a great human being and an excellent surgeon. I am a physician myself and practice in a hospital where I see his surgical patients from time to time and he is just plain awesome. I would without hesitation choose him as the surgeon if I ever had a family member or friend who needed surgery. highly recommend!!!

Dr. Macho performed an inguinal hernia repair on the right side on my groin using a direct incision and the insertion of mesh. Before the procedure, Dr Macho spent an admirable amount of time with me explaining the procedure, discussing options, pain management, what to expect, etc. He listened attentively, and was highly responsive to my interest in minimizing longterm scaring. The procedure went flawlessly, including a postsurgical debrief and later followup at his office which he scheduled outside his routine office hours in order to accommodate my limited schedule. All in all, Id highly recommend Dr Macho for anyone considering a similar surgical procedure based on his experience, credentials, bedside manner, caring, and thoughtfulness.Jeff.  SFO

I needed an emergency gall bladder removal. I was very lucky that Dr. Macho was on call at St. Francis Hospital. He did the keyhole surgery 10 Oct. and was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend him.

I met Dr Macho under the least fortunate of circumstances a latenight weekend trip to the emergency room for an intestinal blockage. I was scared and not really sure what would happen next. When Dr Macho arrived he sat with us as long as we needed (which was enormously comforting), explored options for treatment in a balanced way that didnt seem threatening (phew!). He listened to my concerns with genuine interest, and we developed a game plan for immediate treatment (a necessity). He raised my confidence and put me at ease. After I came to following the procedure (performed under general anesthesia) I was elated to learn that Dr Macho, although a talented and respected surgeon, managed to remove the obstruction, through extraordinary effort and skill, WITHOUT surgery, which was enormously important to me (given my modeling career). Ill forever be grateful for the efforts he made to respect my please no surgery if you can at all avoid it wishes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!  S
