I highly recommend Dr. Rabkin. In addition to being a highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Rabkin is a sincere, caring physician with excellent bedside manner. I felt 100% at ease with him doing my liver resection.

I had my weight loss surgery in 2000 and weighed 250 pounds. I have since lost over 100 pounds and continue to lose as of this morning I was down to 100 pounds I've lost 150 pounds and I cannot stop losing weight. I am scared to death I feel like I'm dying a little bit at a time. When I called to see if I could go in and visit with Dr. Rabkin to find out what my problem is I was told I would not be able to see him unless I came up with $350 out of pocket. I don't understand why he can't do follow ups no matter how far out they are and bill your insurance or at least let you make payments to come and see him if he's going to charge that much. I tried to see another doctor in San Francisco but no one will see you unless they've done the actual surgery so I'm stuck. I guess I'll just go down to 50 pounds or whatever and eventually die but Rabkin really doesn't care.
Racist who harasses delivery people because they’re not white.
After having a Roux-en-y WLS in 2004, I only lost 120 lbs. Despite following the plan, weight loss stopped at 9 months. With help, I found Dr. Rabkin, (1 of only 4 doctors in US) that would revise my surgery to the DS. His staff was outstanding in helping me get approved. Dr. Rabkin was beyond excellent in his skills, communication, patience, and follow-ups. He had the most experience of the 4 drs. and is called the "Guru of WSL" with great reasons. I live in KY. I am so glad I could get to him
Dr Rabkin saved my life. Without sounding too overly dramatic, it is true. I went to him with the beginning of fatty liver disease. Dr. Rabkin did the DS surgery on me and with 150 pounds lost I no longer have a fatty liver. Excellent doctor!!!!
If you need bariatric surgery you can not find a better one. This doctor knows what he's doing, even if you are not the ideal patient. I had a primitive bariatric surgery in 1977 it had been reversed after 11 years of ill health. I located Dr. Rabkin after a long search and much soul searching I would do this again , it became a necessity, I was losing the ability to walk. I had tremendous scaring from my previous weight loss surgery and reversal, but Dr. Rabkin overcame all my issues. I am 3 and 1/2 years post Duodenal switch, my surgery has been a life saver, I lost 160 lbs. still have back problems but I can walk and put in full days what is more now I can have back surgery I was not a candidate at my high of 334. This man is a great doctor. and I would recommend him to any one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
