Joseph T. Chao's Online Review Report Card

I've been to a handful of different dermatologist to find one I really like. I found him! Dr. Chao is knowledge, kind and empathetic. He even spent time to help me make a decision on a medical condition I have that's unrelated to his expertise. And he is wrote out directions for a cream I'm using. That little bit of extra kindness goes a long way, in my opinion.

Dr Chao was the third doctor and second dermatologist I saw for a growing blue nevus on my foot.  My first doctor (not a dermatologist) ignored my concerns about a growing lesion. My second doctor and first dermatologist listened and did a biopsy but wasn't able to remove the whole nevus (It was definitely reassuring to know it was benign though, so I am grateful for that).  So then it kept growing rapidly on this weird part of my toe that I was concerned that it couldn't be removed and have the normal skin sewn together easily - it was getting that big.  Dr Chao was able to take the whole nevus out in a painless, quick office procedure.  The scarring was minimal despite me completely ignoring all of his aftercare recommendations (I think the deep sutures he placed really helped).  Anyways, thanks Dr Chao!

I booked an appointment to see Dr. Chao because I was getting hives for almost two weeks and was trying to pinpoint the underlying cause. After thoroughly reviewing all things I was able to figure out what the cause was the same day I went to this dermatologist. Okay so now let's recap my session with this so called dermatologist that has taken an oath and clearly does t cate about what an oath of a doctor means. Firstly I explained my issues and the issue is his responses and lack there of.. his response to figure out my issue is to take antihistamines all day everyday .. like WTF ?!  You got to be kidding me .. is it a race issue .. I se to be seeing a pattern here if doctors ... totally disgusted! You have issues with race then take your ass where you feel more vanilla and dint care for diversity move dammit!! When I discussed other issue he never even attempted to really review my issues. His responses were I can't tell with the makeup I'm wearing .. how about stating would you mind if we removed the make up to take a look. Nothing seriously wasted my co pay bit to mention the insurance companies funds that I pay weekly out of my paycheck to visit the <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdoctor.my&amp;s=4d4395f8e20a5fd94c576006d1406dc43f8f0cd458fa100217d57dd7d24bc507" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">doctor.my</a> advice is although I checked yelp for his review one is definitely not enough... out hunting for a dermatologist that actually cares to follow through on procedures and practice.. not this entitled nonsense I seem to have come across.

Dr. Chao is an outstanding dermatologist -- he's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and meticulous. All-around excellent physician and sincerely kind guy to boot. Highly recommend his services!

Dr. Chao is amazing. He answers all questions spends as much time as needed during appointments.
