List of Kenneth D. Laxer's Reviews
Dr. Laxer is a great listener, easy to understand and explains procedures with great details. He doesn't rush my visits and responds to messages in a timely manner, even off the clock a few times.
Extremely fine, and Out Going to all patients. Dr Laxer listens, answers, punctual, flexible, lives up to his words. returns calls, and includes you in all decisions. I was not doing well with Keppra. He suggested we decrease it. After not having a seizure for so many years, I was scared to say ok. So we didn’t. But after a few months, I followed his idea. I am off it, and am still doing great. I am 53 years old, and have been with him since I was 18. I definitely refer him to you. To tell you the truth, I do refer Dr Laxer to everyone.
I met Dr. Laxer 30 years ago. I had been having grand mal seizures for several years. After me getting a little pushy for some answers and some testing, UC-SF located where the seizures began. Dr. Laxer agreed to remove the particular location in the brain where they began. This was still fairly new research and he warned me that there was only a 50/50 chance that there would be no more seizures. I assured him that I had confidence in him. Somehow I knew this would be successful. With some pain (severe headaches for a few weeks) and lots of prayers, I have never had another seizure. I celebrate September 14th every year. And I thank God continually for Dr. Laxer!
Dr. Laxer has been my neurologist for nearly 10 years. He has helped me deal with my seizures and I have nothing but positive things to say about him. He gave me his cell phone number in case of emergency. Luckily I did not have to use it. He returned questions sent online within 24-48 hours.
After having had seizures for 10+ years (while raising babies), I finally came in contact with Dr. Laxer at UCSF. He located where my seizures started. I remember him telling me that there was only a 50% chance that this surgery would take care of that problem. However, the risk was worth it. He performed the surgery and stayed with me all during the followup. There were some headaches immediately following the surgery and I had to stay on some of the medication for a while. Eventually all of the medication was phased out, with no headaches.Thirty years later, there are still NO SEIZURES! (1989) If there ever is any indication that I have seizures again, I would go to no one except Dr. Laxer. He's the only one I would trust. And I thank him to this day for the risk that was taken!
I would not recommend this man to anyone. I went to see him years ago and the information he gave me was just short sighted and now I find out was totally wrong. He is very narcissistic about his opinions and does not listen or really show that he cares about your life or what you are going through. It was more than 10 years ago that I saw him and my journey through the minds of many other resources and other medical personnel has shown me that is not the person you want to make major decision about you life.
Easy going, very easy to talkto. Intelligent, thorough. I trusthim.
I’d absolutely recommend (and have) Dr. Laxer for Epilepsy treatment. He saved my life and I am forever greatful. His office staff are top knotch too. Five Star Doctor hands down.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
