Dr. Liu found and fixed an anuerism with coils and a stent behind my right eye in Virginia in April 2017. In December of that year he performed a stent in my straight sinus (I believe I am the 4th person to ever have a stent placed in the straight sinus) that has allowed me to regain a portion of a normal life again. Im incredibly thankful for such a great neurosurgeon and friend. Its doctors like Kenneth Liu and Paolo Bolognese and others that work together that better the lives of the people struggling every day! Keeping the faith that theyll continue their research to help many more. Forever in my ❤️

Dr. Liu might very well have saved my life without ever having met me.I have suffered from a complex chronic illness (ME/CFS) that nobody has been able to offer any input on...for over 13 years. 3 states, multiple brain/neck images, dozens of specialists. The only abnormality noted was an area that could be suggestive of elevated brain pressure. This got me investigating what causes this. I quickly learned about connective tissue problems including Ehlers Danlos, which I was finally diagnosed with in Oct 2019. I stumbled across a video presentation Dr. Liu made on Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and venous stenting. I then took a chance and very rudely reached out to him on the off chance that he might be willing to offer his opinion on my imaging. He very graciously responded that he would be more than happy to help. He identified narrowing of one of the major vessels in my brain. I followed up with a local vascular surgeon who concurred with Dr. Liu, and I am now awaiting an angiogram to definitively determine whether this could be a part of my issue. While all of this is amazing, the single most important piece of my entire picture is that Dr. Liu BELIEVED ME. He is willing to think outside of the box. His focus is on patient care and symptom response. He is not only a brilliant doctor and an amazing neurosurgeon, he is humble, extremely generous, and a very genuine, caring human. 🧡

Dr. Liu is fantastic! He fought my health insurance and cured me. No one can even tell that I had brain surgery. My recovery was a lot quicker than expected. Thank you! I just wish he would have stayed at UVA.
