why are they not answering the phone or voicemails? letting your calls bounce to voicemail then not returning messages is not cool. will amend if they finally get back to me. was just referred here. guess i'll tell my dr.
The doctor is good but the office lately is not. They sent me a bill with a due date that is a week old past. Tried to call the office, left a message but no response. I used all the extension numbers listed including that of the office manager Tanisha Brandy, billing and appointment extension numbers so I could pay over the phone since no online pay is listed on the invoice. I tried calling on the hours of operation but it's still moot. Heard that the office has been bad in taking in calls. Zero calls answered. Kinda sad really. I hope they whip up back into shape.Update: I took it upon myself to drive all the way to the clinic and pay it over there during their lunch hours. I asked the front desk what's going on and I was told that in summary, the office needs a biller to make sure this does not happen again. Apparently it's a common and ongoing issue as the office manager is the one dealing with running the office and billing as well hence a lot of late invoices sent. The office used to also have me pay upon clinic check in during appointments but the guy at the front desk said they still do that if they have enough time to do so depending on the flow of incoming patients who come in for their appointments. Thank goodness I only live about 10 mins drive away but tbh, something like this takes away good patient care experience. By the looks of it, this won't be fixed anytime soon. Kudos to the hardworking staff tho.
Dr. Lawrence Cheung is a gem! He's a dynamo, really smart, and has a great personality on top of being an empathetic, talented, and doctor! I've been seeing him for the last twenty years and he's really helped me with my dermatology issues. I've also recommended colleagues, friends, and relatives and they all come back with glowing reports of his professional knowledge, courtesy, and generosity. He's a true diamond in the haystack! Doctors like him are one in a million.
I have generally had a good expereince with Dr. Cheung and his office. However lately they are not very responsive to responding to voicemails. I have a procedure twice weekly so having the ability to contact the office is critical. I left a message for the office manager and for Dr. Cheung to share my experience with no reponse. Today I went in and was told the office manager is only in on Moday-Wednesday. They shared that the office manager will most likely not respond to my voicemail. The attitude has changed from one that was patient centric to a level of arrogance that is not becoming in the health services industry. Very sad by this experience.
Dr Cheung is one of the nicest people on Earth. I got bad skin sores head to toe after a breast reduction surgery in 2018 and photo therapy helped heal them 90%. I continued to get them so came in for photo therapy until 2021. For a while I was mad that it gave me some dark spots and a freckle on my lip but honestly that was not until the third year! Do not be afraid that you will get dark spots from this treatment at Synergy Dermatology! He did say most people do not need phototherapy this long and I went 2-3 times a week for 3 years. The first two years did not give me freckle spots. It helped save me! I apologize for briefly leaving a mad review and am very grateful for all Dr Cheung's uv machines have done for me! If you are lucky enough to be referred here, go! Thank you Dr Cheung, I love you!!
I just started with Dr. Cheung in 2021. My longtime dermatologist retired due to the massive COVID-19 shutdown. Dr. Cheung diagnosed an issue immediately that I had been using a series of medications for a long time (a shaving reaction and severe itching). He gave me an alternative medication that halted the problem within weeks. It was covered by insurance and inexpensive. In the past, I had spent so much money, including special uninsured compounds, for such a long time. But Dr Cheung diagnosed everything so quickly; the cause, the best treatment, what to expect... now my shaving reactions are gone. He has a very impressive education and is clearly extremely smart. He is also very pleasant and will explain things patiently. He's an excellent diagnostician and very easy to work with... His staff is also very organized. I feel lucky I found him after losing my longtime dermatologist. He has also been very helpful with my wife. He helped her work through an insurance issue for skin medication. We both have a high degree of confidence in him after being new patients this year. Highly recommend him.
Professional. Knowledgeable. Approachable. The office is well-run and staffed. The exam was comfortable and thorough, and no pressure. Dr. Cheung was able to easily recommend treatment for teenager and parent. Concise and accurate assessment of common topical issues (acne, rosacea, etc). Office walls could use more original art work to liven things up, but maybe that's just me ;) and has nothing to do with quality of exam.
I don't know how this joker got any review over a ZERO I went to him for 2 skin problems. Mr. Chung gave a precursor glance and froze them without protecting face area next to one. He uninterestly asked "anything else" in a bored way. I told him about a new dark mole on my chest. He didn't seem concerned and move to inspect. Luckily I had taken a picture of it. He looked at the (not too clear) photo and said in his bored, rushed way "oh, it's nothing to worry about" then he said "anything else)? At that point I knew I would never see him again. Whatever you do if you value your health do not go to this guy.

Dr. Cheung and staff have been incredibly helpful to me over the years. I have suffered from several weird skin conditions and Dr. Cheung has been able to prescribe me something every time. It’s refreshing to find a dermatologist office that is efficient.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
