Lawrence C. Cheung's Online Review Report Card

I don't know how this joker got any review over a ZERO I went to him for 2 skin problems. Mr. Chung gave a precursor glance and froze them without protecting face area next to one. He uninterestly asked "anything else" in a bored way. I told him about a new dark mole on my chest. He didn't seem concerned and move to inspect. Luckily I had taken a picture of it. He looked at the (not too clear) photo and said in his bored, rushed way "oh, it's nothing to worry about" then he said "anything else)? At that point I knew I would never see him again. Whatever you do if you value your health do not go to this guy.

I've had one appointment with Dr Cheung on the phone. He was fine, got my questions answered, didn't seem necessarily super patient or warm but got the job done. What is frustrating to me and why I'm leaving this provider is that their office (in this covid age) will not do video visits. They will only do phone visits and you need to email your picture to their gmail account. If you have a sensitive skin issue in an area that you don't want to send over gmail (not a secure email), they will not receive it through any other method. The doctor will not do a short video either. They said you can just have the appointment with the Dr without the photo. But in dermatology, it would matter a lot to me to have the doctor see my actual issue on my skin! I need a provider who is willing to adapt to the current times and reduce risk of exposure. I found another provider easily within an hour who will do a video visit, same day.

What an absolute boss! Came for a routine mole check and was given treatment to remove ugly nose-veins free of charge because my insurance sucks. Wow! Dr Cheung is not only a Harvard grad but is also incredibly professional, courteous and above all with zero pretense or shenanigans (unlike others who try to up-sell unnecessary treatments). Will not only be back, but will warmly recommend to any friend that need dermatology work!

Dr. Cheung and staff have been incredibly helpful to me over the years. I have suffered from several weird skin conditions and Dr. Cheung has been able to prescribe me something every time. It’s refreshing to find a dermatologist office that is efficient.

Dr. Cheung is knowledgable and was able to answer all my questions about the horrible eczema breakout I was having. He prescribed me with the right topical creams and ALL my eczema was gone within the week of using it. Thank you Dr. Cheung and team.

Went to see Dr. Cheung cuz I had this scab like thing under my chin due to a pimple (my bad I couldn't stop touching it) that from afar could look like a mole, and it won't go away even after almost a year. Upon arriving at the office the staff was meh... I didn't really have to wait that long to go into the exam room... Waited in the exam room for idk 15 mins? Dr cheung comes in carrying his liquid nitrogen bottle and stands near the door I tell him what's going on, and points at my scab-like thing. He takes a look at it (without touching it or look at it closely) and diagnose it with a mole! Took him about 2 secs... Dumbfounded and unsatisfied with his answer I tell him "well this is disappointing... Is there a reason why I suddenly have a mole? Cuz this started out as a pimple... How can that happened?"... His response... "it can be random" he then tells me that if it really bothers me he could remove it, but it will leave me with a divot... I was at lost for words.... I finally accepted that there's really nothing that can be done...I texted my girlfriend right when I got out of the doctor's office all mad... And told her... "it's a F*CKIN MOLE!" all she did was laugh... I went home told my parents what happened. My dad gave me some Chinese ointment I applied it for about a month, and now it's gone....

This doctor office has worst billing system. Had visited with Dr. Cheung in July this year. Paid my $25 co-payment in cash before I left the office. a month later, received a bill from this office that I owe $25. I called and left message, no one call you back. Finally, I called their front desk, connected was told the billing staff was on vacation, asked me to email the receipt (luckily I asked for a receipt after I paid) to: <a href="mailto:lawrencecheungmd@gmail.com">lawrencecheungmd@gmail.c…</a>. I emailed it on 9/5/2019. No call back, I thought the issue had been taking care of. a month later, 10/2/19 I received a bill again that I owe $25. Left message to their office manager and billing department. Someone called me back this morning, was told again to email them the receipt which I did it on 9/5/19. If you need to pay a copay or anything, make sure get yourself a receipt or don't pay cash. don't know when is my issue going to resolve.

I really like the new office. It looks clean and bright! This office location is more convenient than the previous one because there is a parking garage/mall parking lot vs. meter parking. Anyway, my family has been seeing Dr. Cheung for a while now. However, it was my first time. The appointment was easy to make. Front desk staff are friendly! Dr. Cheung is knowledgeable. He is professional &amp; confident! He diagnosed my problem right away! Thanks!

Excellent cyst removal on my head executed by Dr. Lawrence. Everything went perfect. Lawrence is extremely professional and confident. The staff is super nice, and Elena is fantastic. The clinic is modern, clean and my appointments were on time. It was my first cyst excision so, I had no idea what to expect, but it went great (both procedure and healing process). The team made it feel like a walk in the park, and it was :) Thank you all so much for your services!Best, M

On the positive side it was easy to schedule the office is clean the doctor seems knowledgeable and the surgery was very quick and painless. Unfortunately and more negatively I felt brushed off when voicing concerns answers were curt and uninformative and there was no sense of understanding or empathy. He really didnt spend much time with me it seemed like I was wasting his time with my concerns. Also the billing process was unclear. They didnt explain that I had to pay the research center directly for the biopsy though they did charge me the exact cost of the biopsy and told me everything was taken care of.. They made it sound quick and easy but the team never answered the phone and the balance was ultimately sent to collections even after multiple attempts made by me to get in touch for payment in the first place. I dont understand why I even had this issue but Im left dealing with credit issues now because collections was involved and I still have no idea whether or not I was charged twice for the service since I had to pay the collections agency.. Never going back here dealing with them has been a nightmare.
